After 3 days of playing with my new Fuji S602, I have decided to display some of the early results with this fine camera. All the photos were taken in last 5 frame burst mode and hand held.

Which one do you like best? Comments and suggestions welcome.

Stunning photos, morris, colors are nice and the bird really looks full of life. The first one is my favorite. I find the balance is just right between sharpness, the brighter background and the bird.

Cheers,

Alex

I'll take #2 but what beautiful shots! At what distance did you shoot them?

Thank you Timothy. I’ve been very happy with the ISO 400 results I have gotten. I have noticed that you don’t have much room for exposure error at ISO 400 and this may be what gives people trouble.

Hello Morris,

Just fantastic photos. My preference is for #2. Terrifically sharp
and well composed. Really amazing considering the mild scorn
usually attached to ISO 400 shots from the S602.

Here's my attempt at Baby:

Great shots Morris, I guess my vote goes with number one..I'm in the market for a telephoto and I'm thinking B-300. Nothing wrong with your photos with it.

Hi Morris,

Superb shots...love my 602 also but to hell with the camera.

Anywhere you can get within 20 feet of this type of magnificent animal has to be awesome. You are truely lucky to be witness to such an event.

Here in Rhode Island we consider ourselves lucky if we can get a crooked politician tossed in jail. Anyone have some pics of Buddy in his tailored prison garb?

Thank you Bob, this photo was taken at the Queens Zoo in NYC. The eagles live in an open habitat. They are both injured and can only fly short distances. The could leave, but stay as they are happy there.

It is simply amazing what a combination of man (Morris) and machine (S602) why don't u display this on a photo site like PBASE. You deserve better acclaim. What was the focal length and and what is the resolution of these pictures.

Keep it up.

Thank you Tany. I have submitted these photos to a number of POD sites and I suspect that they have a good chance. I’ve already been honored with many best photo honors, so I am defiantly getting attention. You can see my honored photos at http://www.qc.edu/~morris/POD .

The photos are shot at 6-MP fine and the total focal length of the S602 + B300 is 357mm (35mm equivalent). These photos were taken on the 3rd day with the S602 and I can not wait until I know all the reactions of this fine camera.

The eagle pictures are fantastic and I'm quite taken by your other photos as well...especially the "white stork?" and the "fox and pheasant" shots.

I never had a great interest in photography for some reason until I got my s602. I have a lot to learn but this camera makes it pretty fun!
