Thanks for the links, Britton.

I'm guessing Sigma has plenty of insurance - or cameras - to allow their SD1 to be carried around sans neck strap - over water too!

I also note they used a DSLR (didn't catch which make) to shoot the video.

was the video shot with an sd1 also? it looks like it..

It's not an SD1. Apart from the fact that it doesn't record video, you can tell from the from the camera strap eye-holes. The Sigma SD1 has round 'lug' style attachments.
Edit: Also, they are taking a great deal of care to hide the brand name of the videoing camera. I think it's a Canon...?

sample images should not be too far from now, I hope.

Time to think about what to complement this beast. Optics wise, definitely not the 18 - 270mm. Inclined toward the new 17-70mm OS.

It is clearly an SD1 camera, pause the original commercial at 0:15 and it is easy to see that it is not any other Sigma SLR and that it is also a Sigma SLR and not another brand.

Edit: I apologize, I see that you are referring to the camera that filmed the commercial and not the SLR in the commercial with the 18-250mm lens attached to it

Is this an updated lens? Otherwise why would they put in an ad for a lens that is 2 years old? Or is that a normal thing to do for a lens?
It's nice seeing a Sigma commercial, however it sorta reminds me of both an Olympus and Nikon commercial I saw out a couple of months back.

In my opinion, it would be nice seeing a truly unique for a very unique camera.

The masterpiece is created by the artist, not the camera.

This is not an add for the SD1 but for the 18-250 :)

Interestingly german photo-shop foto koch is listed in the YT-links.They have SD1 listed. No price yet.

Most probably the same crew did a travel-commercial in ZA for some german private TV, Vox, rtl2?
