I was wondering if (or how easy) it is to add a voice picture description to an image? I remember this being mentioned in the early specs but wasn't covered in the review. My Kodak records sound with the JPEG and I've found that to be very handy on vacations.

The F505 has a 5 second "Voice Memo" option, similar to the DSC-F55.

If it's anything like my F55, then when you press the shutter and release it will shoot the picture and record sound for the next five seconds. If you hold the shutter button down it will shoot the picture and keep recording until you release the shutter or for up to 30 seconds. The original JPEG image is stored along with a seperate MPEG file that has an MPEG sized version of the picture you shot along with the sound you recorded.

That's good info, Scott. Thanks. I hopefully you are right. That could explain why none of the pictures seemed to include a record button for sound.

One thing I wish it had were an 'after-record' feature where you could record annotations after the fact. No such luck, tho.

Scott,

Ive got a F55 and it records up to 40 seconds of sound on a single picture, but when I transfer the file to my computer it only has a jpg picture file (no mpeg sound file) I'm I over looking something. Can you tell me how to save the mpeg file?

I use a PC card reader to transfer my pictures and the files with both sound and preview are in a seperate folder... I hear there is a problem using the Picture Gear that comes with the camera - it doesn't transfer the sound, I understand.
