I'm using a D60, JPEG files, PS6 with color space Adobe RGB 1998, my screen is calibrated, I'm using Epson Premium semigloss photo paper and have big troubles in getting the right colors with my Epson 2100:

The only way to get right colors is to use the set up "Photo Enhance 4" and that's not normal; if I use "No calibration" my photos are too dark and too green, if I use "Epson calibration" they are too pink; the result is not better if on the Printing Space I select "same as the source" or "Epson 2100" or "Adobe RGB 1998".

I have tried nearly 60 different combinations without success. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for your help, I start to be lost and expect to get high quality prints with this printer.

Hi,

http://www.leppphoto.com/learn/articles/profiles.htm

There are a couple of free Epson 2100/2200 profiles here. They are for the Lustre and Matte papers. As the Lustre is very similar to the Semi-Gloss in make-up I have found the profile to work quite well.

Use No Colour Management in the driver and let Photoshop do the managing with one of the above profiles.

Go to http://www.Epson.com then to the Epson Australia site then search- Epson 2100 then Downloads. On the downloads page there is a pdf document giving very clear very precise step by step directions for RGB printing using ICC profiles (which are available for download on the Australia Epson site) and Photoshop 6.01 for Mac or Windows. Great results. The link for the George Lepp site given earlier has one "p" too many. Try http://www.lepphoto.com/articles/profiles.htm . There are 4 very good profiles available for download here along with detailed directions for their use with Photoshop 7.0 and Epson 2200. I found the Australia Epson site to be the easiest directions to follow. Good luck

Try this link http://www.leppphoto.com/learn/articles/profiles.htm TYPE this link into your browser. It does not open from here but should open in your browser. I was wrong about the number of ps - there are three.

They should work fine - I'm using the Epson 2100 driver when I want to print borderless with matte ink (something else Epson NA decided we didn't need) and the only problem I've found is that the Status Monitor doesn't work correctly. Prints are great, though. I use the Epson 2200 driver the rest of the time (better paper choices for what's sold here).

Some people who have used these profiles say that they work best on landscape type photos because they bring out the blues and greens better, while the Epson profiles bring out reds and yellows better so are better for portraits. If you use them, let us know what you think!

Thank you Bill, it works but it's specify for Epson 2200, do you
think that the drivers are the same for the 2100?
The ICC profiles work with 2100 or 2200. They are paper specific - each profile is for a different photo paper. "matte, gloss, semigloss etc. http://tech.epson.com.au/downloads/product.asp?id=stylusPhoto2100&platform=all Try this link for Epson Australia downloads for the Epson 2100. There is a pdf file showing step by step how to use 2100 + photoshop 6.01 + profiles. Epson 2100 drivers, profiles and directions for use are available for download on Epson Australia site. Use the ICC poifile for the type of paper that you are printing on- the profiles are paper specific. Follow the step by step instructions available on the Epson Australia site EXACTLY as they are described and you should get great results. ICC profiles are available on your installation cd and the profiles on the George Lepp site work well for me.
