your first shot really works for me on colors, bokeh, pose, it appears just a bit centered on her head leaving the empty space to the left a bit heavy in the composition.
in number 2, i get the idea. But try that with slow sync & rear curtain fill-flash. Makes the sharp parts really sharp.
Well, cat pics get bumped around here a lot so bumping up a cat thread ain't nothin too bad ;-)
interestiung shadow pattern in number 1. number 2 is proof that you missed the "Sssshhh...sleeping pets" challenge. it would have fared well me thinks.... better than my entry :-(
