Has anybody used Canon loyalty program and would like to explain how it works? I have a 40D with a bad shutter or mirror that I may try to upgrade to 7D.

My understanding is that the loyalty program offers 20% off on a refurbsihed camera. Unfortunately, not every refurbished camera is part of the loyalty program. I believe the 7D is part of the program though, so you're in luck. I had finally decided on a 60D, but it is not part of the loyalty program. Bummer !

Hope this helps !

I just tried to pick up a 7D instead of authorizing the repair of my 50D. I gave up after 3+ weeks. There is no rhyme or reason for when they have them available. You just have to be lucky.

You can call them at Canon's direct sales number: 1-800-385-2155. I picked up a 7d about a month ago for about $1089. It seemed like new and no issues. Cannot speak to current availability.

you have to pay this money in addition to your used camera?

i heard good things about this program..but if you search hard online for deals dont you think you can find a good deal on a new 7D close to this canon deal?

ANY malfunctioning canon camera... lots of people pick up a broken camera off ebay for

I picked up 7D from the loyalty program in March for 1067 + Tax. I sent back a broken powershot i bought for $10 from a co-worker.

The 7D looked brand new. Using the program qphoto2 on my mac, the shutter count was only 274.. Very please with the purchase and ease to get the 7D.

Also picked up a 28mm f1.8 prime.. Also performs perfectly..

With issues in Japan, supplies are running low and these alternative channels of purchase are drying up..

wow thats interesting..thanx for sharing the info

Same deal for me - I traded my old 300D for a 7d + $1,067 + tax + free shipping in Aug 2010.

I couldn't tell the camera wasn't new and has been flawless (user error aside!) since.

ebay the 40D and trade in any canon camera if possible for a better value. as others said you get 20% off refurbished. Mostly out of stock now due to supply but i landed a 7D recently from CLP
