Yosemite Falls Moonbows

Impressive, I have never really seen a moonbow.

Those shots almost look like they were taken in daylight, looking at the car park etc at the base of the rock.
Great stuff,

Rod

All I want is a digital back for my trusty K1000 . . .

Ditto to the complimentary comments already given. Number 3 for me is exceptionally attractive because of the glasslike reflection. Now I'm inspired to try some moonshine ;) photography! Depending on what type of "moonshine" I use I might get some interesting photos!

Great shots first of all. I'm just wondering why you were shooting close to wide open? Was it to limit the exposure time to 30 sec or less?

Very nice series.

Faster lens for shorter exposure results in less noise, shorter star trails, and less smearing of the rainbow, For the Upper fall pictures, depth of field is not an issue, but the lower fall pictures I should have stopped down more for more DOF.

It's the singer not the song.

Thanks for sharing these. I still use an older K20D for some landscape stuff as I just love the 16-50 lens match.

I think that #4 is the one I like best. It conveys the sense of night more than the others, which look like they were taken daylight almost. This said, great composition in all of them, well done. I'd remove that lonely SUV in #4 if it were me. Might be more difficult with the parking lot full of vehicles, but in that one, it would be relatively easy.

Tx for sharing,

Wow...
I like no 3 the most (because of reflection), but colors of no 4.
