On my Panasonic G1 I was able to get the shutter count (SHTCNT) and the power on count (PWNCNT). The screen also gave me the STBCNT. What is that?

Thanks,

Michael

The number of shots with flash....I think

...take a shot with flash and see if the number changes.

The G1 image processing is quite astonishing. Point it at your face and it will give you the "Stubble Count".

Yet another option: standby count? :-)

From my LX3 notes the common display on all Panasonic seems to follow.....

Here's a snapshot of my LX3 at v2.1 firmware some time back...

Camera Info
Ver 2.10 : 0000 : 010B (obviously firmware level followed by ??)
No: xxx (long number displayed, maybe the main board serial number?)
PWRCNT: 2362 (the number of times camera turned on)

SHTCNT: 6849 (the true camera total shot count, only reset by some internal service operation like replacing parts)
STBCNT: 219 (the flash count, number of shots with flash)
PSVCNT: 15 (number of times the auto power off has actuated)

The bracketed notes are what the forum consensus was as to the meaning of the counts.

Thanks everyone for the (sometimes quite imaginative) information. I guess the consensus is it has something to do with flash count. Now I wonder if it means internal or external or both. Well I guess there is only one way to find out.
