I love riding motorcycles. Today I went for a 200 mile adventure on my bike. As a sportbike rider, I love going fast on curvy roads. There was one curve that almost made me crash at 60 mph due to gravel. I stopped for a little bit to calm my nerves and saw a photo op. Picture is shot with a D7000 and the kitlens.

Wow that 18-105 VR kit lens is very sharp! Anyone else in here into motorcycles?

I have to say that the 748's are one of my favorite Duc bikes as far as styling goes! Very cool pictures with the 748!

Yep, I ride too. Gotta watch out for that gravel!

Some of my bikes...

The Buells are certainly nice but that Sportster is SWEET! What year is it, or is it even all from the same year? The first bike I really wanted was a '72 Sportster. Of course a year later when I was old enough to ride all I could afford was a '73 Yamaha TX500. I sold my last bike 10 years ago when my daughter was born to increase my chances of seeing her through college! Riding fast bikes makes me a little crazy.

Great photo op. The way we were before WalMart put little shops out of business throughout the country. I used to ride, but one day on my first outing of the spring I was coming off an interstate and was going a bit too fast. I realized I almost lost control and decided I needed to sell the bike or risk wrecking it.

Since everyone I knew at the time who rode had been into wrecks and lost hide, I figured I'd ridden for many years without gettting hurt and the time had come to do other things. Nothing quite like it. You're right, gravel can really scare the heck out of you. That and rabbits running in front of you at dusk.

It is the 21st Century and I still prefer to read books on paper, not plastic.

Hi Paul,

Thanks, and that is a '72 XLCH! I restored it to look like a '57 Factory Flattracker back in 2002. Really fun bike to ride around town and on short trips.

Nice set!

Man I miss my 02' R6.

I've been eyeballing cruisers as of late though. Doubt I'll get one though. :(

Hi, Alvin!

That's my other hobby too, and I currently have that same bike but the N version, without the fairings :P

Here are a couple of photos, both at F1.4 with a Samyang 85/1.4:

This is the 20th new bike that i have owned accumulating approximately 1,050,000 miles on all of them.

This was taken on a ride to Borrego Springs, CA

I'm not sure if I got into photography because of my motorcycle trips, or I began taking motorcycle trips to take pictures? Either way the two hobbies do go together.

Great thread! It was my travels as a motorcyclist that got me interested in photography. In May of '06 I bought a Nikon D70s from Canoga Camera and never looked back. I'm sporting a D7000 now, and luvin' it.

Here's my 2000 BMW R1100RT overlooking San Francisco Bay on one of my cross-country rides:

I'm into two wheelers as well, with a little less thrust to weight. Good looking bike you got there. Enjoy.
