Where should i purchase a G2??

I've decided that i'm going with the G2.

Now, the question is where to get. i definately want to go with an online dealer, but whom.
Whom can I trust? I obviously am looking for a great deal on a new un-opend G2

Having waited months for the G2 price to drop, I finally bought one from the B&H used dept for just under $500. When it arrived it was in Canon packaging complete with all accessories, software, docs, etc. There was a printed seal which declared the unit to be "refurbished". Camera works great.

I have bought used from B&H before and have always been pleased with the results. Their prices are very good but not usually the rock-bottom lowest. Quality ratings are accurate. Service is excellent. http://www.bhphotovideo.com .

I brought the G2 yesterday from B&H. For $759, I got the brand new G2, the camera bag, and the 256mb card, plus the tax. Not bad. I initialy went in yesterday for the Sony707...but got the G2 instead. I got all of that, for the same price as the 707 by itself (no bag, no extra memory). Not a bad deal, and B&H is the best IMHO.

i was also looking at the sony's f707 and f717. i love the sony batteries, i've had great experiences with them in the past.

i am choosing the canon becuase i like the idea of the compact flash over memory stick. also, for the manual control.

now i just need to buy it from a legitimate company rather than the brooklyn camera shops.

You should see if they will pricematch on the G3, like Ritz.com is. With the Ritz.com deal, you could get a G3 for $16($743 total, which includes shipping and tax) less than you just got the G2 for. I was able to get my local Ritz store to pricematch at $743 today, as well(although I still had to pay tax).

I too was looking at the 707...but decided to go with G2.
I think, B&H is the best place in NY.

If you are going to go as high as $700.00, you might as well go to Costco.com. They have the G2 kit with two batteries, a case and a gadget bag for $699.

I purchase a black G2 (with 96 Mb 12x Lexard card and leather case) using my AMEX gold card and got $250 USD back with their best value guarantee program, basically I paid $449 USD.

Get it at http://www.costco.com - it might cost a few dollars more, but they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee - you can return it in a few years if you like. That's where I got my Epson 2200 for $615 - I thought I'd try it out and keep it if I liked it.
