I may have over processed this one but I love it .. believe it or not there were about 8 people on the station at this time .. at least I saw them walk onto the platform

This thing just appeared out of the mist at me...

River Thames is not all in central London...

Great stuff, that fog, if it can make even industry look good. With the help of a good photographer, of course! The first two are my favourites - in the second shot the alien look of the factory is great in contrast with the foreground. Thanks for sharing!

Hello Mark,

Good to hear from you. A good set of images. The fog and mist seem a very quiet and calm setting.

Nice set, I liked the pale, almost monochromatic quality of the colors.

Hi Mark,

Very good use of fog (the only positive point I can find on fog is for taking pictures of it) and great compositions and moods. In the second one I would maybe prefer a monotoned version as the rest of the red colors are taking my attention or maybe desaturate them. I like them all.

With very kind regards,

Dirk

Hey Mark - looks like you come from round my way - is that a C2C train station I spot in the first picture!
Looks a lot better than when I see them at 5:30am!!!

Thanks for your comments Rob, I love the look that fog gave the scenes and the escalator / conveyor in no 2 is something I will have to go back and take another look at.
Thanks for sharing!
Not at all thanks for looking and for your comments.

Thanks for your comments hugh, glad you like them.

I need some ambient assistance to achieve really blurred backgrounds with the small CCD size on my camera :-) seriously I love the effect that fog has on things like this and will be able to do a better job next time from what I learnt with these images.

Thanks Richard, I tried changing some some to greyscale because the fog came out pretty dirty looking in some, my white balance may have been off a little. I did some 4x6 prints and they are indeed quite "pale faint images".

I have been playing a bit with greyscale and also with tone changes to use the complete range on some it seems to give quite an interesting effect.

Thanks for looking.

Glad you liked them BB and they reminded you of Vancouver.

The only time I was in Canada so far was one day in Toronto and if I recall right it was cold enough to freeze the of a brass monkey :-)
Pretty foggy and atmospheric as well.

Well they say variety is the spice of life and we certainly do not always get blue skies ... in fact its pretty rare ...
