Hi, all:

After a number of thematic threads dealing with various subjects such as travel architecture or nature macros, I've decided to put together a thread consisting entirely of assorted , mostly unrelated pictures for variety's sake so here you are, these links below go directly to 14 suitably large, selected images chosen among my recent TZ7 ( ZS3 ) production.

You'll find here all kind of pics and lighting, from fast sport action under blistering sun to a slow locomotive entering a train station under the rain, from brightly green landscapes to a sunlit dam under a dark stormy sky, as well as full-zoomed 300 mm telemacros next to 25 mm superwideangle views, and even the occasional experimental shot such as the dizzy funfair ride at night or the attempt at star trails in the late night sky.

Apart from aesthetic considerations, they might prove useful to check the quality that can be obtained with this camera for such general photography. Full details at every picture's description, readily accessible by clicking the blue " Photo " text part of the "Photo / All sizes" label at the left above the pic itself.

These are the links to the large size pics (most of them shot handheld, all of them shot in available light, no flash, no PP):):

Nice shots, Trensamiro. But I really like the photos you posted in your Tips and Techniques gallery. We took the ZS3 with us to Israel for my wife to use and it really delivered nice images.
Take care,
Daniel

Thanks!
I'm very happy to be able to see more of your images.

My ZS3 is serving me well. I had a problem that was fixed by Panasonic. There was some debris within the lens. They cleaned it, and aligned it and the camera is as good as new.
Great service!

I am very grateful that you keep posting; your comments and fine images are what got me started with this camera.

Best,
DaveL

I've noticed a minor goof on my part: the experimental picture with the star trails does have some PP, namely combining the separate pictures taken at 2-min intervals into a single image in order to show longer trails.

Sorry for the omission. :D

Glad to hear that, GeraldW , you're welcome and here's hoping my tips will prove useful to you right now and in the future as well, as many of them also apply to other models and even cameras in general regardless of type or brand.

Wish you the best of lucks with your ZS3 and rest assured that as long as you take due care of it and use proper technique (the key ingredient) you're bound to get truly excellent results wholesale, please don't forget to post'em up ! ... :D

Regards.

Thank you very much for your kind comment and continued appreciation, Daniel , I'm glad that you like the pics at my Tips & Techniques set (here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mirepapa/sets/72157624447149089/ ) and even more so if you found useful at least some of the tips and comments there.

I'm also glad to hear your ZS3 delivered the goods while in Israel and I'm sure your wife thoroughly enjoyed it, perhaps she could be amenable to post some of her results here for us to admire ... :D

Best regards.

Good to hear and I'm glad for you. My ZS3 (TZ7, actually) it's been already two years with me and I always keep it protected from dust, lint, and extraneous particles in general. Thus far I've never experienced such a problem.
.
I am very grateful that you keep posting; your comments and fine images are what got me started with this camera.

Nice to hear that my contributions to this forum have been both useful and enjoyable to you. I intend to keep contributing in the foreseeable future, free time permitting, and really hope that you'll be enjoying your ZS3 as much as I do mine, it's a really awesome camera, the acme of the once great Lumix TZ series.

Here's one of my recent, as yet unpublished pics for you. Have a nice weekend and best regards. T.

Just got back from a short trip to Madrid and after seeing your pictures, I miss it already.

That suit of armor reminds me of a shop on the Paseo del Prado called Objetos de Arte Toledano. The store was full of such suits, swords and other neat stuff.

I didn't take my ZS3 because I was told me that Madrid was full of pickpockets and thieves. This was not the case. The people couldn't have been nicer. I took an old Sony V1 instead, but wish I'd taken the ZS3.

Had great weather, enjoyed the food immensely. The Retiro and Rostro were fun.

Hi, dos ojos :
Just got back from a short trip to Madrid and after seeing your pictures, I miss it already.
.

Thanks for your appreciation, indeed Madrid is a very nice and above all fresh and lively city.

Madrid's insanely enjoyable night life , which extends all night long, has to be seen and experienced to be believed. The extremely good weather also helps as well, as you surely noticed ... :D

.

Yes, there are a number of such shops near the Museo del Prado, full of ancient-looking objects for tourists to buy and take home as souvernirs.

The swords are, of course, purely decorative, mere wallhangers, and trying to use them as if they were real, i.e., playfully swinging them to and fro, is utterly discouraged, you can easily hurt yourself or somebody else if the blade gets loose and goes on doing some "helicopter" impression ... :)
.

.

Indeed they are . Madrid being "full of pickpoctkets and thieves" is but yet another "Black Legend" of sorts ... ;)

On the contrary, Madrid is a modern, first-rate first-world city and the security and urban standards are very high. Myself, I've never had the slightest problem or even any encounter or incident with thieves, pickpockets or whatever in my whole life. Knock on wood, of course ...
.
I took an old Sony V1 instead, but wish I'd taken the ZS3 .
.
Yes, it's quite a pity that you didn't bring it in. Perhaps next time.
.
Had great weather , enjoyed the food immensely. The Retiro and Rostro were fun.
.

The wheather is as good as it gets in this planet , warm and sunny since more than a month before Spring made its yearly appearance, with excellent light for pictures and excellent temperatures to enjoy the night life.

The food is also awesome , from small tabernas and mesones to Michelin-stars-class restaurants, there's plenty to enjoy, one of the main attractives of visiting Madrid in fact.

Since you didn't bring your ZS3 here but on the other hand I did bring mine, here's one of my recent unpublished Madrid pics for you, the Royal Palace no less:

El Palathio Real! I was there!

I stayed at a hostal just a five minute walk to this place called Puerta Del Sol, which was a happening place at night:

The street musicians were quite good, and people were moved not only to give them money, but to dance as well.

On Sunday, going for a walk in Madrid's huge park 'El Retiro' was a real treat. I shot this in infrared mode just to see what it would be like, but it'll be even better for infrared in about a month, when the trees are fully in bloom:

El Palathio Real! I was there!

Hehe, "palathio" is ortographically incorrect (it would be "palacio") but phonetically it sounds the same ! ... nice ! ... XD

It is, it is. It's also known as "Km 0" because all radial highways begin their kilometer count from here, this is the origin point for all of them.
.

The good weather does inspire people to go on the streets and enjoy the night life. You can't do that with sub-zero temperatures and freezing environment or at least not as conveniently and enjoyably.

Very nice pic, indeed I should probably attempt something similar one of these days.

Thanks a lot for your kind comments, dos ojos , have a nice Easter holidays.
