I don't have any! but I'm going there for the first time later this year (20th wedding anniversary). Anyway I'm doing too much reading and not enough looking at pictures on this forum at the moment.

So if you have some great hawaii pics to share I would love to see them and get inspired. I have even booked a photographic tour on Kauai. If you post any please let me know where they are and any special tips for taking some as good as yours.

thanks

What a great shot. Waikiki I presume. We have a couple of nigts there with ocean and city views so I will have topack a tripod and try for a night shot too. Thanks for that.

Thanks Jack,

Not sure we will get to Pearl Harbour as we only have a day or so on Oahu. The bulk of our time will be on the other 3 main islands. I guess Pearl Harbour for Americans is a bit like Gallipoli for Kiwis and aussies.

It is almost impossible to take a bad picture on Kauai....the most beautiful spot on earth IMHO. Whether you are into gardening or not make sure you visit the Tropical Gardens at Allerton or Na Aina Kai. Also spend a day or two wandering the north end of the island. In Poipu, take a hike along the cliffs near the Hyatt. Walk in to the beaches at Mahalulepu.
Make sure to protect your equipment from blowing sand.
The clear waters also allow for great underwater photos if you are so equipped.
Have Fun, Harry

If you can, you might want to consider a helicopter tour. I went with Blue Hawaiian on Maui last year, and was very pleased.

They also do Kauai; in any event, if you want some inspiration, go to their website and look at the videos taken from the copters.

Also, under the Photo section at the bottom of the page, click on the different islands and you will see printable driving guides available that might be useful.

Have fun!

Thanks I have an old canon A520 (4MP) with the full underwater housing that is good to 40m and that will be going with us.
