I am looking to purchase a new tripod. Narrowed my choices to either an Induro or a Feisol CF tripod. Any opinions on either of these? Thanks.

I recently purchased one of the new Induro tripods, and I am thrilled with it. The quality will rival anything on the market and the pricing is definitely a plus. The Induro's are a real bargain without sacrificing quality. I also picked up the Induro Gimbal head for my 600mm lens, and it is also very high quality at an affordable price. Don't hesitate to purchase from Induro.

i'm really impressed. did not get a head. the tripod is super solid with legs fully extended and column 1/2 way up---with my ball head it's very close to eye level (i'm 5-11) and it folds up to just shy of 18", weighs 2# & supports 22. dampens vibration very nicely. what it doesn't have is the ability oob to mount the column horizontally. i have another, heavier tripod to do that, although i've never used that functionality. i needed the Feisol for an upcoming trip in which weight and length were critical, and it really fits the bill. shooting with an A850and, among the other lenses, the CZ16-35.

the new model has non-rotating legs (i got the last of the discontinued model at a big discount).

between it and an Induro, i'd go for the Feisol. i haven't owned an Induro, but my local pro shop (Service Photo) had the line for a while and then dropped it after getting some returns, more than they wanted, and the price wasn't really so low. so i've seen them and they seemed ok, but i definitely like this Feisol better. they also carry Gitzo and Manfrotto, and now Proline as there low end (they're not bad...).

JEEEZ!!

Maybe you had better get your Tripod in Canada! I think that's the only place that wasn't trashed in your thread! :) These guys should be on a "news blog" and not using your space to have some lame-ass political argument. Oh --- :) by the way, you might want to look at Giottos Tripods also, they're a great produt.
P.S. hope there's a "peace treaty" soon, so you can get the info. you wanted!

I know they make Buicks and beer. Not so sure about tripods though.

Ha ha ha. Human rights are just a big joke, aren't they. Let's all buy the cheapest toys we can find, even if they are made in sweatshops run by communists whose regime seeks the ultimate overthrow of the freedom our ancestors won with centuries of sacrifice. Ha ha ha. At least we got our toys for cheap. Let's all laugh at those who think otherwise. Laugh all the way to the grave, punks.

@ KM Legacy- you know, I've never thought about it like that. After reading your posts, I for one will definently make a more conscious effort to pay attention to where products are made before I buy. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this, I hope this thread doesn't get deleted.

apparently a whole slew of posts in this thread got deleted for being overly political (if not downright offensive), for those of you scratching your heads. but i repost this to set the record straight. pretty certain about this, although it's hard to find on their website.

Yes. Websites (and publishers in general) get a bit nervous when people diss the koran - can't think why. Say what you like about the Bible though.

I bought an Induro CT-214 a couple of Christmases ago...I actually chose this over a Manfrotto CXPro (I forget which one, probably the 055). I like the stouter construction of the Induro, that it came with spikes, the twist locks versus the flip locks on the Manfrotto, and, frankly, I wanted to try something different. I have been very happy with it.

Can't really comment on the two you are mentioned, but I recently bought one of the Giottos Vitruvian series and it is NICE.

I have been keeping an eye on the SIRUI Travelmate 4 Section 8x Carbon Fiber Tripod N2204

My criteria includes the following
1) Light for travelling
2) Can be used at low height min height (80° Leg Angle): 6.7 in

3) Can be made sturdier on location by adding weight - Centre column has a retractible hook.
4) Can withstand extreme temperatures
5) Not too expensive $367.00 + $14.99 shipping on Amazon

The bonus with this tripod is that one of the legs can be used as a monopod

If there is something comparable please let me know

Thanks Tex. I like the fact that the SIRUI can convert to a monopod. There are places where tripods aren't allowed but you can take in a monopod. The short center column is included and the spikes are built-in. The spikes can be exposed by rotating the bottom. As of now I think you get more bang for the buck with the Sirui. Plus it has a 6 yr warranty. The Sirui is a little heavier though.

I just purchased a Benro Travel Angel - TRCB269. I've very impressed. Very light, it will fit in a carry on. I think it is discontinued so is much less than the current model. I purchased on Amazon from DBROTH for $349. Marked as a demo, but it looked branc new and he still lists one as available. The new ones can be converted to a monopod, but are almost $200 more.

This is nearly as tall as my Manfrotto. Great value.
