sony hx100v vid clip

wind noise filter was turned on but it was very windy around the 20mph mark i would guess.

I really like the look of this camera.

How would people say the video on this camera compares to a dedicated HD camcorder? (currently use a Canon HF100)

I quite like the idea of having just the one camera for both stills and video, to lighten the amount of kit I need to carry around.

Might be equal to or better. Did you look at some of the HX100V videos posted on this board?

HX100V does 1920x1080p at 60fps, I believe the HF100 does it at 30fps?

I've seen the one posted in this thread. Are there some more?

The clip looked good, but seems to have some digitisation in the sky when zooming in (I'm assuming that's down to compression for the web?)

If the HX100V can produce video as good as the Canon HF100 that I currently use I'd be happy.

I downloaded some original HD video clips taken by the HX100V from the following link:

http://dcdv.zol.com.cn/219/2191282.html

I've burnt these alongside some clips taken on the Canon HF100 camcorder onto a Bluray disc and played it back on my HD TV.

I have to say I'm very impressed!

The clips are easily on a par with the HF100, if not better.

The colours look very vibrant, and the video quality excellent.

After seeing some of the still photos posted on this forum by the HX100V, and seeing the video clips, this camera certainly ticks all the boxes for me.

It will be great to have such a versatile camera and certainly much more convenient having to just pack the one camera when travelling.

Just have to wait now for the UK release!

Your Canon is much better than Sony DSC HX100v, as canon is designed for video camera, but it's not good for image. If you have already a video camera, you better buy DSLR for the quality of image as the sensor is 13X bigger.
