My new K5 arrived yesterday. I programmed the RAW-Fx button to Auto Bracketing and turned on the One Push option in the Custom menu. This would be very convenient but for the fact that I have not discovered a way to turn the bracketing off. No sequence of pressing the RAW/Fx button before or after the shot has an effect, nor does turning the camera off. Turning off the One Push option allows a return to single shots.

If you can't turn off One Push bracketing without going to the menu how can it be useful? What am I missing?

I don't think you're missing anything. It does only turn on, not toggle. A toggle function would be a nice update. I ended up using the button for the level feature.

I noticed that too. I find i dont need to exposure bracket very often with the k5, just expose for the highlights and lift the shadows. Im still trying to decide what i want that button to do.

I have programmed the button for high speed shooting. Very useful for sports.

I totally agree with having a push on, push off feature for that fx button.

The way i handled it was to have at least 2 USER menu choices, normal and HDR. once in the bracketing mode, rotate the mode button away from USER AND THEN BACK AGAIN. This enables the user choice LCD screen to show up in the upper left corner. then you can choose "normal", a non bracketing choice for me. the only other way is to use the 4 way disc to choose the top drive mode which allows one to choose a non bracketing option.

PENTAX - PLEASE LISTEN, ENABLE A QUICKER WAY TO EXIT DRIVE MODES.

best wishes,
