Just wondered if anyone else has had problems with the manual focus wheel. Mine no longer works. For no apparent reason it just went out, along with AF. It seems to be locked on 2 meters or so. The wheel moves, and moves the gauge, however, I hear no internal focusing noise. All my photos at infinity are now blurry.

I've been happy with the camera up until now. I've only taken about 2,500 photos with it. If anybody could share some insight, I'd appreciate it. Thanks

Sorry to hear this mate. I assume you have turned off the camera, removed the battery and card, waited a while, reinstalled the battery and card and restarted? Fingers crossed it's just a freeze.

Otherwise, it sounds mechanical to me - in so far as there's no engagement between the focus and the rest of the camera. Since AF isn't working either might be something astray on the boards. In that case it's a trip to the doctor I'm afraid. Still under warranty?

So what happened? Has the problem resolved itself? Have you sent it in for repair? Or have you thrown the camera against the wall vowing never to venture with Sigma ever again?....

Looks like I'll be sending it back to Sigma (New York). I missed calling them today, but it looks like my only option. I'm hoping it won't cost too much, as it's not under warranty. I'll keep you updated on how things unfold. Thanks for your input.

I have the same problem. I sent the camera to the dealer in Toronto and now is in Japan for repairs. Expect about 4 month to have your camera back.

Not necessarily -- Sigma US seems to have good repair capabilities. They repaired my DP1 when its lens extension mechanics failed a while back; took about a week, as I recall.
