Have just got my first DSLR a 60D and Canon (since a F1).

I have popped in a new SD card and notice that it does not pop out - when 'pressed there' but needs a pair of tweezers to pull it out. Is this a fault (if so back to Jessops) or does it change with use?
Also is there a way to tell how many shots (if any) the 60D has taken.
Nice sunny day (for once) so off to York to play with new toy.

The SD card should pop out - methinks a problem if it doesn't :-(

Mine popped right out the first time, and continues to do so. Needing tweezers to retrieve a card sounds like a defect, unless maybe there's just some type of temporary spring misalignment?

Thanks for the feedback - have done a bit of pushing in and out - now rises out a tiny bit so it is easier to pull out - although difficult to do without tweezers. I'll pop into Jessops in the week and see how their 60D plays this. Will read the manual - but off to take some images...

Have you tried another SD card? The one you have might be slightly wider.

I agree with above take it back pronto while still under 28 days to Jessops. This dealer can sometimes be a bit picky when replacing cameras. Sounds like the spring mechanism is weak so don't be talked out of it. In a month or two it may go completely and THEN YOU HAVE TO SEND IT BACK TO CANON! Be firm.

Mine did the same thing when I first got my 60D and I thought why the heck Canon designed it that way. So I used my finger nail to pull it in and out to read files as I was doing testing my new camera. A couple days later, when I pushed it in and it kept popping out then I realized it was problem at first.
