I also like the lines and textures of the last two shots. How were they processed?
Thanks. They were ALL processed with Silver Efex Pro (vers 2) but obviously using very different settings. The next to last one (stacked metal chairs at an outdoor cafe) uses very high contrast settings, not quite as high and overdone as the one preceding it but a lot of contrast nonetheless. The last one I don't recall doing anything unusual to - just played around with the settings until it looked right to me...

Still on vacation.

Shots taken during a shopping trip to Playa del Carmen, mostly shot from the hip, all using the Pany 20.
Not sure how I missed these before. We've taken vacations near Playa Del Carmen a few times - usually close enough to walk or bicycle into town. Very touristy but a fun place to walk around, particularly if you get off of the strip and into the back streets. I particularly like these 3:

Thanks for the kind words. It was lots of fun.

Bob - great tones, balance, and lines in this one. I like it very much. I would have titled this something like "Prune Jar" as it is a major feature in the image. But this is of no consequence.

Congrats on not loosing a part of your vision, Paul! And glad to learn they could fix it quickly. By coincidence I really can relate to your experience. Just two weeks ago I came close to a retinal detachment, flashing & floating.

You tackled the event with a nice report of the day!

Don't know what it is but it's a great pattern.
Stacked chairs outside a restaurant - nobody gets that one...
Haha, but I did , tho it took quite some time to figure it out!

Nice one, Ray, very nice, with the texture and the rythm, and the unusual viewing angle. Also a good tribute to the versatility of the 20mm, like this whole series is with its variety in styles and approaches. I too liked the first one, maybe also for the reasons Bob brought up, recognizing a way of looking for a subject. The playground sliding thing is another nice one to my eye - there's something sensuous about it.

Well, you have proven yourself that you could go for an X100, ain't? :-D

I too am following what come up in the reviews. And somehow a bit relieved it seems I won't have to ditch my GF1 any time soon. Like I said in your E-5 thread, let's happily go on with our oldies!

Our optics must have gone on the blink at the same time. Mine was accompanied by a worm of blood that is now a fading floater; it seems to bump into my eyeball with the effect of a mosquito on my nose. Make sure you get both eyes properly checked out as they are both from the same batch. I had to have two doses of laser and should be ok. It is the camera viewing eye...oh blubber! Luckily I live close to a university teaching hospital....it is suprising how useful eyes are...but you only realise it when they go wrong. Anyway, good luck and keep taking the photos!

Lovely picture, Bob! Interesting mood, nice tones, and with stuff that makes me smile - that sheep head mug!

For the plug & canister reference I needed to read the whole thread tho, plus follow the wiki link. And all that while I'm even supposed to be old enough! :-/
