you can get a dell cheaper than building one if you a good deal.

Really? The cheapest Dell that I see is 519. With that you're getting SDRAM and not DDR and I'm suspecting its only going to be 128 no name at that.

If you are looking for low cost, the refurbs at techdepot.com are good deals.
yes i got 128MB DDR. but you got wait for a good deal. this is the deal i got last month:

and there was a dell promotion where you can get a 4550 w/ P4-2GHz 15in LCD CDRW 30GB for $489 after coupon and rebate! oh well i missed that out.
that was impossible to beat.

Hi,
When I go to the Dell page, I don't see the offer that you stated above. They have one for $459 -$50 rebate, only a CDRW upgrade (I already have that so the DVD would be better for me). It's 2:00am Nov. 19. Maybe it changed already?
Also, someone mentioned that Dell's are propriatary systems--you have to buy their memory, etc. Is that true?? Anyone know?
