Portrait orientation can often be your friend when taking portraits. ;-)Took my son to get mail on his scooter
Well I like the pictures. The background has a nice bokeh blur so that your son stands out. I like the red (probably bottle brush) behind him. Overall good pictures.

OK, will try to remember that.Portrait orientation can often be your friend when taking portraits. ;-)Took my son to get mail on his scooter
Ok, will try that next time with a zoom lens, since I am already on the street with the 50mm this timePerhaps take an environmental portrait of him on his scooter (puts the helmet in context).
It is actually his brother helmet(and see if he'll tighten up that chin-strap)![]()
I actually been trying to do that when I have a chance, here is one example, I think people at the haircut place think I am crazyKeep shooting any chance you get, that'll help the most.

Ok, I should have done that, I just forgot to open up the aperture after I stop it down to take a picture of the flower very close the minute before. They look good to me. A couple suggestions though. Why not open up the aperture more to get more background blur and try "candid" type shots.
Thanks Carlk, that is my ultimate goal, but still working on that thoughtYou don't have to hide behind the bushes just let him do what he's naturally doing instead of posing for you while you take the shot.
How about targeting fellow Canon shooters especially people shooting the same lens?
You don't really need to read or reply if not interested.
I like the color !
Oh, cute shot. You really captured the moment.here is one example, I think people at the haircut place think I am crazy![]()
Those bright colors around his head are somewhat distracting. You may be able to do something about that in Post.Is there any suggestion for this shot?
A person has to click on the "Original" in order to accurately assess the image. Otherwise there is too much compression going on.One question for you, is that true the picture on here is less sharp than on your own computer?
I agree with the masses on the helmet shots.
You got it right with the haircut though. Great shot!
