Amazon - no G3 !!

I couldn't wait. I cancelled my Amazon order and then ordered with Good Guys, then couldn't wait for them either and got it overnight from bestpricevideoaudio. It ended up costing an extra $100 or so, but I had a great day of shooting today that I wouldn't have had otherwise.

Unfortunately my order now indicates a ship date of 1/2/03, not 11/20 as this e-mail would indicate. Don't know which to believe. I've replied to this e-mail and will hopefully get a straight answer.

Cummon... be kind... To be able to take pics people have to buy the camera. The satisfaction of buying a good camera adds to satisfaction of taking good pics. This forum had helped me locate a good camera (G2) and a good place to buy (canogacamera.com) many months back. Do not get irritated by others discussions on places to buy, prices to play and delivery schedule. After all such discusion is localized to a thread(s). And even if there are some marketing posts disguised as regular posts, it doesn't take away the fact that there are people who need to talk to other people to help them make up their mind. There are people out there who have a beautiful eye but no camera in their hand to use that "eye".
And you always have a choice not to visit a thread which clearly seems like "buy decision" thread...

Now they're saying it won't be shipped until November 22. They responded to my inquiry today by stating the camera is not yet released! Maybe Canon is making improvements to the G3 and Amazon is getting the fixed ones. Yeah, right. I don't think there is any excuse for what is going on with Amazon.
Has anyone received anything from Amazon yet?
Or is everyone too fixated on foil photography?
OK, I give in. I'm collecting tin foil in anticipation of taking dozens and dozens of photos with CA problems. I called my local news because the live scene of the downtown area here exhibited the same CA around the lights as the foil photos did. Does Canon make industrial video cameras too?

Sorry to hear of all your trials with Amazon. A lot of us ordered the G3 from Ritz Camera (on-line). We are getting it for $743.78, no tax, no shipping. They have several hundred in stock. I ordered mine last Friday, and it will be here Wed. Nov 20 - I can track via UPS tracking number. It does not get much better than this.
You can't just go to the site and order with your computer to get that price, you have to call. See post on G3 from Ritz for $743.78.
That's my recommendation to you.
