X100: DirtyTrick's flickr stream

These are great...I don't know flickr, is there a way to see these in larger sizes?

either way, they do look awesome at their display size. I can't get my preorder fast enough...wish they would ship today.

From the menu above the picture (click on a picture in the photostream display to get to the picture's page) click on Actions -> View All Sizes.

Hmmm....the one thing that I noticed is that all of the shots that I REALLY liked turned out to be shot with a Nikon D300. Keep in mind that I really want an X100.

Anyone else notice this? I know it is not a controlled comparison since the shots are different compositionally and in terms of lens selection, but now I do want to see a 35mm equivalent on a Nikon D7000 or a Pentax K5 to see if the retro factor and small size is really worth it. Those Nikon shots dealt with some hellacious metering issues and the rig seemed to come through perfectly.

These are the ones I would have let out "into the wild" first. They do the camera justice whereas some of the others not so much.

I don't mean that as an insult to the photographers of the other samples, just that since they were taken in lands suffering from winter, the pickings are much more limited...

This just proves one basic thing, "the camera doesn't matter." The photographer is skilled so the photographs reflect that, the X100 did not make these samples awesome, the person pressing the shutter did. Don't get me wrong, I like Fuji, I have a GX680 II and it is an awesome piece of equipment, but you guys that run out and buy the X100 expecting similar results to the files on this post are going to be scratching your heads. On that note, I did pre order one from Adorama, and am looking forward to trying it out, I hope they sell a gizillion of them, but I think in the near future we are going to see a bunch of "My X100 is defective blah blah " posts on this forum, and the people that bash it will post samples of their cat blown up 200% at ISO 6400 in broad daylight. Mark my words.

I am with you on this....funny. I can see the subject line now "My Squirrel and Cat photos are out of focus.... returned X100!"

My x100 isn't sharp at the left-most corner at f/2, when looked at 200% magnification. Fuji wont fix it under warranty, help!

images are really good and have me back on the fence. they look to be a bit better than the dynamic range of the GF1 fitted with the pancake lenses...almost as shart.
