Hello everyone,

I will want a battery grip for my new 60D and I would love to hear opinions on the various after market options available from those of you who have purchased these, or would I be better off buying the OEM version?

I had a Zeikos grip that I used on my 500D with great results. Much cheaper than the Canon model and never had an issue.

I just upgraded to a 60D myself and am going to order their grip next week.

Amazon or EBay usually has them for sale

Thanks for your opinion, I have looked at the Zeikos grip and it appears to be the only after-market unit that may have been manufactured to a higher standard than some of the others that are offered at this time.

I see you own the Meike brand grip and their batteries, have you had any issues with the fit and finish of the grip. I use leather hand grips on my other cameras and I am wondering if the pin on the bottom of this grip will hold up under normal use with the strap. I had an Opteka grip that had it's pin brake off on me and that almost cost me a lens. This is why I am seeking other owner's opinions.

I can't speak on any aftermarket grips, the Canon battery grip is great, and obviously everything fits and functions beautifully.
 
I am finding that there is not a big choice of after-market battery grips right now. For the price difference and the peace of mind, I will most likely get an Canon original grip.
