I have been taking pictures for a while now but im a realative nubee to photography. So all i'm asking for is some CONSTRUCTIVE feedback.

Thanks and i hope this is the start of many posts for me.

Hi Slinky,

The sky in the photo is very interesting, but I would say that the composition could do with a little work - apart from the slant, the photo would have benefited from more of the church and background being in the shot.

I see a statue in the left side. I am not sure what camera you have or flash - if you have the option to shoot with a 'slow sync' flash setup, it should allow you to capture the background plus the statue, which I think would have made for an improved photo.

Regards,

Gary

I really like this photo. I like the dramatic tone, and the colors. It's hard to judge the composition due to the odd angle it was taken at. Did you do this intentionally, or was it just a quick grab shot? Sometimes it pays to shoot wider, so you can crop later to recompose.

But if it wasn't for that, it would be an outstanding photo.

And the good news is those are things that are easy to correct next time you shoot something like this.

The moon and clouds are great, very moody and spooky. I agree that the angle was unusual, and would have preferred less or no slant. Unlike the other posters, I found the buildings distracting. I wonder what was to the right of the frame? The silhouetted trees without the distracting other lights might have made this a real eye-popper.

I always try to take one or two wide shots because I often find later that I'd like to crop the photo a little differently or adjust the angle. (I think I live life on a slant because I am always having problems with level horizons ;> )

Personally, I think the picture is quite nice. Very Gothic, mysterious and haunted looking. I'd have missed out the bright area on the bottom left though.

Pst, I wouldn't shout "CONSTRUCTIVE" at people in here, you'll get good and bad comments, all are constructive anyway, telling you where you did good and where you did bad. Comments like "I'd have deleted this and not bothered uploading it" aren't uncommon and you shouldn't take offence. So in essence, you get what you're given and should be grateful for such. Shouting "CONSTRUCTIVE" isn't going to change a thing.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the feed back. I will up date all the camera details at some point but just t clarify i have a Canon rebal t2i. When I shouted constructive that was due to previous experience when someone asks a newbie question people tend to make comments like do u not know what ur doing etc.

Although i do feel i owe an appologie as the responces i have recieved are constructive and not aggressive.

Ill post some more pics up soon that i will need alot more guidence with,

Anyway thanks again,

Slinky.
