Interesting Delta 3rd Party Warranty Info

Lee is 100% correct. My D30 had a meltdown a few months back and
Mack sent it to Canon for fixing. My only complaint with Mack was
they were slow. It took them a few weeks to log in the camera and
send it to Canon - a week or so to approve the repair and then a
couple of weeks for it to get back from Canon and to ship it to me.
In the end Mack cost me about 4 weeks with my camera, however their
warranty was a heck of a lot cheaper than Canon's. In the end my
baby is taking pretty pictures again thanks to Mack's service.

To be honest I though that myself and I suppose that there would be
no guarantee that Canon UK would fix it any quicker.
It depends where you go. My 100-400L (s/h from B&H) developed a
fault a week after it arrived, but I was able to arrange for them
to pay for it to be repaired at Fixation. I was only without the
lens for a week.
Delta just keep pushing the Repair Tech warranty that came with the camera even though I was told it should have an International first year warranty with it. I have emailed Repair Tech but no response as yet.
It's been raining all day in the UK so I have not had much of a
chance to try out the camera, but it sure seems like one mean
machine with an fps so fast I just know I'll never miss another
shot.
You got the 1D, then? Pleased with it?
Very. Just frustrated at the minute because of the lousy weather.
I'm just hoping that the weekend brings some dry weather with it.
Me too, I have a new tripod and head, as well as a newly repaired
100-400L to try out :-)
We have to keep our fingers crossed for some brighter skies, cold days I don't mind, wet ones I do :-(
