Pro1 - Good morning!

Thanks John,
I had a great day because it was warm (a big welcome from the cold)
and had a busy fun day.

Ha, I was wondering how I could shoot that at 1/15 at iso50. But because it wasn't that dark and in RAW always helps the shakiness I think.

Have a good evening and glad you liked the pictures. (;
Hi Sue Anne,
Both are gorgeous & hope you had a nice Valentine's!
Quite impressive if that Pro1 shot was handheld @ 1/15!

Good evening Hamdan,

The 7D is a very nice camera, I enjoy it so far and still lots to figure out. Reading, trying and experimenting is what I have been doing.

I find shooting mostly in P mode is a start and it does very well in low light and high iso's.

One for you recently looking at the sunset on the icy snow

Good morning, Sue Anne.. Nice shots from both the ol' Pro1 and the new comer 7D.. I truly envy the 7D. Please post more shots from the new cam. Thanks and Happy Valentine's Day.

Thanks, Sue Anne for the golden sunset from the 7D. I think the 7D is one of the best. I played with it when it first came out and liked it very much. But the price is a bit high. But will get either the 7D or the new 600D if/when my 40D gives me problem.

Cheers,

YW Hamdan,

But remember I got a refurbished 7D so I saved lots than the retail price. (and it seem brand new)

Keep the 40D going as it will go, I will keep this 7D for a long time, ha it may be my last dslr til it dies. (knock on wood)

Have a good evening and I am going to get some zzzz soon.

Hi Colleen,
Yes definitely a great way to start the day. :)

The flowers pictures were taken yesterday, it was the church' bouquet and I needed a picture for another challenge ....

I did get flowers this evening but I have to reshoot as I didn't like the way they turned out.

Happy Valentines to you too !
Wow.. a beautiful start to your day! The flowers are so beautiful as well..a gift from hubby? Happy Valentine's Day :)

Thanks Bob (:

I aim to put some of these photos in a digital scrapbook so that is why I take moments to remember.

Have a great day!
Once again, great shots. You are very good at telling stories with your images.

How's the 7D doing for you? Still have it?
Remember last year I sold my 7D and went for the 1DMkIII thinking it was the best of both worlds - having a 1.3x crop and 10fps frame rate for sports/action and IQ like a FF body. But I sold my 1D and went back to the 7D........ I realized the 1D was just too big and expensive for just being an amateur.

The 7D for my needs was overall the better choice........for an APS-C sensored body, it's the best one on the market today, even outperforming the Nikon D300's.

It's a keeper, having a great build, ergonomics, outstanding AF performance and fast frame rate for sports/action with great high ISO results.

I completely agree with you, Gerald! I used to live in Phoenix and used the Pro1 at Sedona on several different trips. The results were just ourstanding! Even today, I have some framed 8X10's oif some of the lovely scenics form Sedona, and the Pro1 gave wonderful color and detail. So, I agree with you 100%.
Dale,

In 2007, we visited friends in Sedona, AZ. To save weight, I took my Pro 1 and got a lot of gorgeous shots with excellent color. In my opinion, the Pro 1 is better for landscapes than my 30D. A good part of the time I shot in Vivid, which can be a little over the top; but for the red rocks around Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon it was perfect.

Since I haven't seen any activity, I thought by now you sold the 7D BUT glad its considered a great sports/action cam. I think it might be in competition with the Nikon D7000 than the Nikon D300.

It is a keeper and looking at the 7D, you'd think it was a dud.
I like it for its clean high ISO

Here is one I took this morning, its still not that bright outside and though it showed blown highlights, it was the snow (:

The only thing I ask is I get alot of high ISO's but at low shutter speeds which I thought if I shoot higher ISO's, the shutter should be higher. (on P mode)

Have a great evening and racing season is starting already.

Check what your aperture is when using P mode......it may be selecting a smaller aperture therefore giving you slower shutter speeds. I shoot Av 80% of the time since aperture control is very important either for the best DoF, sweet spot of the lens or fastest shutter speed possible for proper exposure.........I only use Tv when I want a specific slow shutter speed to emphasize motion, i.e., waterfalls or prop blur on aircraft........

Thanks, .......yes qualifying starts next week...........

Thanks for that tip.

I still like to shoot P mode mostly but will try some more on Av Mode. I have enough to think about though I know some say I should shoot manual.
