For those familiar with the high sierras and the Mammoth Mountain area this image was recently shot approx 1 mile N. West of the Benton's Crossing. I drove into the Benton Crossing area and trekked Northwest about 1 mile for this snapshot. Very very cold this day. Hope you enjoy. For those that wonder I have approx 100k of high sierras imagery and I have approx 35k in slide film. My wife and I try to travel to the high sierras every month if we can get there. Enjoy, Gary N W SFO light pp in CS5

Very nice photo Gary! Colors are rich, good sharpness, clarity, and composition..well done.

For ME personally it is really nice to hear from a new friend that knows this area like we do! I appreciate you viewing and commenting on my image. It is I who thanks You for the same memories of such a lovely uncluttered area. I hope you still get up there now and then and would love to see some of your own images from the area If and When you might have the time.

All the best to a fellow high sierra country lover,

Gary N W SFO

Thanks very much for stopping by to view and comment on my image. I am quite sure you will do well up there with your HS10 like you do in Oz. Yet when you are going there in May it could snow up to 18 inches over night or it could rain or just be warm and muggy. It is truly just potluck what it will be like up there.

What I know for sure you will love this area for sure once you get adjusted to the altitudes. Be sure to bring warm and cold weather clothing when you are up there.

I am anxious for you to have a lovely time up there and just have a lovely time when you are in the USA PERIOD!

All the best my friend from Oz and stay well,

Gary N W SFO

How is my friend from the LA area doing? Hope you got over the flooding issues where you live without much damage!

Thanks very much for viewing and commenting on my image. I sure do appreciate you stopping by when you have the time.

All my best, Gary N W SFO

Let me tell you true! I sure have missed your own posts of the exciting image series that you always post. And for sure it is very nice to hear from you, too.

I know you are a very busy guy and very active, too. I most assuredly appreciate you stopping by to view and comment on my image when you have the time. Thanks for that!

I am sure long ago cattle drives did exist in this area and your observations are very keen indeed.

All my best & stay well,

Gary N W SFO

The subtle imagery is because of your help with CS 5 and a couple of other's, too. I do appreciate all the help I have received from you for quite a long time now.

Cheers and hope you are well,

Gary N W SFO

I am glad you enjoy this image Paul. I DO try my best sometimes to do well. Other times I do not do so well. Yet I keep trying like anyone else. Thanks for stopping by to view and comment on my image.

Hoping You, Lynda, Aimee and Connor are doing amazingly well now!

My best, Gary N W SFO

Great shot of a beautiful landscape Gary. This one should be in a travel guide for that area. ;)

How is my ole friend? I suppose you must be working really really hard! I just hope it is not getting you down and/or unhealthy working soooo very hard.

Thank goodness for the occasional flight into Tahoe and breaks in the weather and not to forget Betty's doing all or most of the driving. Or I might be a cooked goose here in being largely housebound. The good side of it all is that we are still able to get out and about constantly and be where we wanna be most of the time=high sierras. It sure works for us. Allows me to continue on taking images if not as much trekking as I used to do. Betty sure can and does every trip. She is amazingly energetic and healthy thank goodness.

We both sure hope You and Mandy and your lovely doggies and kitties are all well, too. As you know our pets were like our children, too.

All our best and thanks for viewing and commenting,

Gary and Betty SFO
