G2 Jpeg Compression Question

I have just recently purchased a G2 and have a 128 ultra compact flash card and have a few questions about the jpeg compression. I replaced a toshiba pdr m4 with 2.1 megapixel and it just had different resolutions which was easy for sizes. I do understand the different resolutions but when it comes to the jpeg compressions what is the best to use? Of course the superfine will prob give the best image but for the number of images what is the real difference in superfine and fine and normal? any help would be great. thanks.

Hi Michael, welcome to the G2 community.

Diffult to tell in your place if the quality loss is worth the extra space. You should probably test it yourself : take the sime pic in the two compression rates and zoom on them to see the loss of details. You might even print both to check on paper if you really notice.

But IMO, if you just upgraded from a 2MP Toshiba to a Canon G2, you're probably looking for a better quality. So don't waste it by compressing too much. Youl'll never get the details back !
