Why Fuji stoped making DSLR after S5?

Marco, I totally agree.

I do many big Greek weddings, often with 30+ people in the wedding party. With ALL my Fujis, First my S2, then S3. and finally the S5, I knew my results would be an okay lookin 8x10 but God help me if they wanted a big print and actually hoped to see the faces clearly!

The Fuji, let's face it, it's effective 6mp compact sensor, just was not up to the task.

For portrait work where one or two faces fills the frame, I could make excellent 16x20 portraits with a 3mp camera "back in the day". But put 36 faces in an image and there weren't enough "pixels per face" to show much more than crap for detail.

I have heard rumours through the Fuji website and in other places that a Fuji DSLR is on teh cards for the future, but possibly using a full frame sensor from a differetn source with their own trickery running behind it. I though that the S2 was 12Mp? LOL I know I know the Fuji Super CCD was all in all a great sensor for colour tone and dynamic range, when working at its best output it can produce fantastic results. I have a soft spot for Fuji and own both a S2 pro and the Nikon D2x, I will never part with my S2 pro, and the D2x is a great camera, image wise very similar to teh Fuji but so superior in almost every other way I would be tempted to sell it all for a 12-15Mp full frame Fuji S6 especially if we were looking at modern camera performance with the richness and beauty of the old S2. Fingers are crossed, and bank manager is worried ! LOL
