out there, the next few days ... watching the evening news ... seems the US midwest will have a record setting winter storm. Be careful out there!! Post some pics and share, your life. I'm still trying to understand how "Global Warming" is creating record setting low temps and record snow falls.

My friends tell me that CA has weather that's 15 deg warmer for this time of the season....and the temps around NW seem similar to last year. The E. Coast has been pounded recently, and that's bit unusual....but they had warmer Summer too ?

...wonder what the have to say about the parallel change in Mars' climate?

The most accurate long range weather forecaster on record is this weird looking guy by the name of Piers Corbyn. His predictions are based on the intensity of solar activity. His ideas are a lot more credible to me than those of the global warming scientists because his predictions have actually come to pass. Thus far, the predictions of the global warming advocates have been dead wrong.

Then the news stories I've seen on TV, and the articles I've read in newspapers and elsewhere about the record melting of the snow & ice cover of Greenland, the continuing shrinking of the Arctic ice cover, and the melting of the permafrost in northern Canada are not true?

No need to try opening eyes of the ones like Cedarhill; they already know the truth. More precisely, the convenient truth that fits their plan or their lifestyle: the Earth is flat, petrol is all around, no danger from chems, just please watch out not to step between his couch and his big TV.

In my opinion there are far more dangerous people outthere: the ones that fake „being green” by driving a Prius... just to have somebody else following with a Hummer or Ford Expedition, to haul some luggage. Even if that luggage is a mere suitcase, or some bags of groceries.

OTOH, I'm kinda sick of laughable marketing ploys like everyithing being green; kinda like the fake CSR moves.

Will be fun counting all the big SUV's upside down in the snowy ditches.

Could it be that the caps are getting thicker while melting on the fringes?

In a 3D world we'd take all the measurements, not only those that say that the current temperatures have raised 1.5° in the last 150 years.

(and that includes the times in the 1970s when the craze du jour was that the Earth is cooling)

The sea water level seems to be same since I was a child long ago, and Blaise Pascal has demonstrated the principle of the communicating vessels.

"Estimates suggest that Greenland and Antarctica have contributed 0.0 to 0.5 mm/yr over the 20th century as a result of long-term adjustment to the end of the last ice age"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Current_sea_level_rise#Longer_term_changes

Should we continue to pollute? Definitely not!
But we shouldn't cry wolf either by claiming that CA is 15° warmer than "usual"
(there may be more hot heads there, but they shouldn't prevail over science : )

Those things you describe are called observations not predictions . It doesn't take a scientist to state the obvious. The questions I have are about what is going to happen in the future, why it is happening and whether the human population can do anything about it. It is only logical to believe the explanations of the person who has been accurately predicting future weather changes. I have been watching the predictions of the global warming theorists for the last 10 years or so and they have been quite wrong. Mr. Corbyn has not.

If the theories of the global warming advocates are so obvious and unshakeable, why do you suppose they felt it necessary to form a colossal conspiracy to alter data and suppress contradictory facts. This behavior has been proven beyond any doubt by the release of thousands of emails between these so called "scientists". I have read some of them myself and the authors have not denied it.

At one point in time, the flat earth scientists were the accepted authorities on the subject - kind of like the global warming advocates of today. The idea that the world was flat seemed quite obvious to them, based on their small minded observations. How do you know that the phenomenon described by Patco are not regarded in the same erroneous fashion today? The lessons of history can work both ways.

I like your explanation of that famous global warming celebrity Al Gore. It seems that enough other people have made the same observations about this phoney that he has gone into hiding. It doesn't help that he has apparently taken on some of the character flaws of his famous former boss either.

What record setting cold temperatures?

This Winter in the North American Continent has been average in temperature. Snow is a reflection of moisture. The temperature has been caused by the lack of ice in the North Polar cap. The increased albido means that instead of being reflected back into space, the cold is retained.

The moisture is caused by EL Nino.

Last year Globally was the second warmest since record keeping began back in the 1880's. Yet North America again had an average Winter - We haven't had to many "average" Winters, and since memories are short, people feel the cold.

Apparently the word "Global" is an oxymoron. 2010 was the second warmest since record keeping began.

stick to law. I don't think logical thinking is your forte. or, are you a qualified scientist, too?

This err conspiracy? You mean the millions of scientists who all keep their mouths shut?

Those e-mails have been debunked as being part of a "conspiracy."

http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2009/11/climate-hack/#

It's easy to post the correspondence of scientists out of context.

Sea levels continue to rise, the Polar caps continue to shrink, and that doesn't occur during global cooling...

Dave

… in other words, average is not… average : )
Global climate predictions state unequivally that some parts of the world will actually get colder even as the entire world warms up.

So for example, even though Rome is on the same lattitude as New York, the termperature today is much warmer in Rome. As wind patterns and sea currents alter, we can expect many oddities in what we've grown up with and expect.

But the term global warming is exactly what is says - Global. I wouldn't invest heavily in sea coast properties.

Dave

the world has been warming up and cooling down since the begining of time ...
the difference is that they have now found a way to TAX it .....

it was warmer in the UK during the roman occupation they grew grapes much further north than we can do now as the temp is not now as warm.. we allso had a mini ice age in the middle ages from which we are now warming up
