Paris et Lumiére

Yes it turns out 'the curmudgeonly one' is a bit of a cross dresser after all!

Nice to see you are still around too.

.....the former DP review member in #1 ?? ( ...shame., apart from everything that has been covered by the OP's , I also enjoy the exposure control & tonality of the colours, particlarly the sunset at the Louvre ?? thx again . RonS

Thanks for your comments. Yes I am always looking for 'lead-in-lines' that take you into the picture etc.
Your photos have given me a lot to think about. Recently been on a photographic course, and it was encouraging me to take a similar approach. Your use of diagonal angles quite fascinating. Can smell the gauloises.

Nice to see Harlan Saperstein on the forum again. I did enjoy the repartee between him and Billy, which often had me roaring with laughter.
Harlan is on another tour of Europe at the moment (he did Eastern Europe last year). I caught up with him on the last bit of his France journey, he is currently in Belgium en-route to Austria.

Delightful subject matter and strikingly adept photography Steve, the opening shot is pure excellence, though there are some others in the set that give it a really good run for its money. France always amuses me; much of its charm is rooted in empty palaces and remnants of a refined heaven once on earth, the only fitting occupants long gone.

A wonderful and varied collection of la vie de Paris (hope I got my French right)!
