Pentax k-5

I just got my new K-5. I ordered it from Japan. I am in Thailand. I asked the sales people of the stain problem and they said it was a problem. but before they shipped to me they would test to make sure it was not affected.

So got the camera and it was severly affected. So the retailers are just as bad or worse in Japan as everywhere else. A piece of shi-t.

Now out the shipping back and the VAT here. Which is very high.

Hi.. I'd be more annoyed with the retailer in Japan, they must not have checked it, before sending to you.

If you're returning an item you should be able to get the customs duty and vat back. I know you can here in the UK but its a hassle.

Can you not contact the retailer who sold it to you and ask them to collect it as a resturned item saying that you are rejecting it because it is damaged? In this case they should contact the courier and arrange for it to be collected from you and returned to them.

i'd hope the customer service of the store you used is good enough to rectify their mistakes so far.
