717 Gone Missing!

I can't believe it happened, after sending my camera in Monday, it was fixed on Tuesday and shipped back to me on Thursday, But by Friday afternoon My camera had disappeared of the face of the earth! I spent most of last night on the phone with Fed Ex and they don't have any explanation for what happened to my camera. They told me to call Sony and report that my camera was gone. So I called Sony today and they have to confirm with Fed Ex that my camera is missing before they will ship me a new one. Needless to say I am not too happy with Fed Ex, but I understand sometimes bad things happen, but it seems like too many bad things have happened with Fed Ex and the 717 HAF fix.

I recently had a fed ex delivery that last it showed it as being on the truck to be delivered to my house. Then they lost it. Could not say where it was. 2 days later a person came to the door in a van on a saturday in plain clothes and delivered it.
He was delivering on off hours. Hopefully your situation will be the same.

I wondered in my case if the driver went home sick the day I was supposed to get my package and was making up time on the weekend or something. I'll cross my fingers for you.....................

Last holiday season I purchased and received a CDRW firewire bundle from a a local vendor.

It suffered some speed problems and was returned FedEx (vendor only 50 miles away)

FedEx claimed they delivered the returned drive but the claimed signature was no one employed at the vendor.

After countless calls to FedEx, the vendor and FedEx claims dept in Pennsylvania, I filed a claim that took four months to be re compensated. I even had the driver conference called with FedEx dispatch, claims, the vendor and me; it got no where.

Then out of the blue, I received another different drive (unsolicited); I called the vendor/shipper who claimed they had no record of shipping it to me. Go figure............ 5 months had gone by.

May be FedEx should change "Standard overnight" to "Standard Resting overnight"! or may be the FedEx airplane is running out of gas!?...

My 717 for overnight delivery was picked up on Monday and delivered to Sony on Thursday, I live in Eastern Ohio, I could have walked it to the Sony factory in less time.

But as my understandings, even it says "standard overnight", it's only
be delivered on weekdays.
I, not only tracked my F717 on the internet, I called to Fedex to check
about my delivering status and when will be the delivered time.
A gentleman told me that I need to wait until Monday (well, Fedex pick
up the camera from Sony on Friday afternoon 14:20).

Sorry to hear about your missing camera and I hope the end will be happy for you.

My experience with Sony and Fex Ex was very satisfactory. Called on Friday and a schdualed pickup was made for Mondy afternoon. The camera was picked at aroun 11 am on Mondy morning and came back onThursday mid morning. I conceder tat as an excelent service, but maybe I am luck or it is the area where I live--San Francisco Bay Area.

Great news, Fed Ex sent out the trouble shooters this morning and they found my 717. It turns out it had fallen into a large bin with 5 other boxes and they were all delivered to a local Ford dealership. Came home and checked the 717 focus and it is working much better. Thanks to everyone for the words of support in my darkest hours;-)
