I'm always fishing for nice light to take pictures or to be correct I must say that mostly it is more hunting then fishing. Here some fishes from the last weeks, hope that you appreciate them.

With very kind regards,

Hello Dirk,

Your usual fine work, this time with emphasis on the light. Very well done.

hugh

Dirk, you are not a photographer, you are an artist who just happens to be using a camera. :-)

I like them all (and I wouldn't crop anything).

Hi Dirk,

I like all of these ,each for different reasons. But, of course, you intended it that way ;-). I found this photo of the mannequin particularly intriguing. As I've commented before, I like having to "fill in the blank spaces" of a photo in my mind. How did you collimate the light so precisely without illuminating any of the background ? Very well done !

Best Regards, Beiklo

Hi Dirk.

Photography is write with light from its greek root. And you did justice on this serie.

My favorite is the second, very creative view. I'm thinking about will be back on the streets to try some shots.

BTW I commented your post about jewish people in Antwerpen but It seems missed my reply. That post, very radical reminds me some scenes of my city Buenos Aires, specially the jewish districts. You know Buenos Aires is one of the 5 cities with more jewish people on the world. I had an aunt that lived on the heart of the jewish town called "Once".
Have a nice weekend

Hi Dirk,

Wonderful images, as always.

I had a recent day off from work, and got up at my usual work hour and went to the river with my camera. The sun was rising just as I arrived, and the cold air caused mist to rise off the water. A fisherman could have found easy fishing there, because the salmon are running this time of year, but as a "fellow fisherman fishing for light", I think I caught what I was after. If the weather is good tomorrow morning, I will go back and fish for more!

Sometimes I think it is easier to catch a fish, than to catch the light.

Hi Dirk,

You're a very good hunter. You always seem to track down your pray and capture it on film. I love that shot with the man standing on the pier with the orange life preserver. Did you get to keep that poster you had printed with the new technology? I bet that was really impressive to see.

Great pics as usual Dirk. Hey next month I have made up my mind to order the S2. Thanks in large part to your work as well as Martin', Mahesh and some others. Thanks for the inspiration and for posting so often. Hopefully I can find something to photograph with the winter coming on fast here in Wisconsin.

Regards,

Mark

Hi Dirk,

Lucky there are no European Quota for photographers fishing for light. Freedom to use the light.. (only Berchem … ) So lets just make more photos before ‘they’ put a tax or ‘administration costs’ on light…

This is magic work. I enjoy every picture.

Hi Dirk,

Amazing colours ... I can't pick a favourite as the are all very different and very nice.
Now I know why you're portraited a lot with a tripod lately,

These shots show you're not only a good photographer, but also you're a very patient man when taking pictures, well thought and good composed.

btw. I checked your profile and noticed you're from Mortsel. Great, I was there last week (de Pasteelstraat) - it's a very small world...

Hello Dirk,

It is difficult to choose the best picture from the ones you showed.
But the second one, the man with the dog, is my favourite.
This can be subjectif, thinking about my walks with my dog....

I'm happy to see those beautifull photos

Kind regards

Skitch

Hi Dirk,

What you are bringing to the table to eat, well just to much. All the yellows and the blues, I just cann't have that much. ;-)

The man walking his dog, is great.

Th elast of this series, the man at the pier is graet as well.

But I think the photograph of the dummy is outrages,

jacques.

You know, choosing one doesn't mean disliking the others, tomorrow I may feel differntly.

Dirk,

These are all excellent, but my favorites are the first, fourth and last image. We were already treated to the excellence of the last image in the past, but I never tire of it, and I like the first for the way it captures your theme of "fishing for light" literally. The fourth has beautiful color contrast. Looks like you are making excellent use of your wide angle lens.

My best regards and respect,

Robert

Hi Dirk, I love the use of light in each photo. The second is my
favorite.

Morris
Hello Morris,

Thanks very much, the title of the second is 'The man who felt to earth' because I was wanting someone walking into this scene for having a nice silhouette and suddenly he was there. All the very best.

Dirk
