From a hike yesterday. Hand held ISO1600 junk

Uh oh, looks like trouble. hic

Hi, mate, I like these 1600 iso or not. Reading the title I thought it was going to be a dull tech thread. So to see photos like these was a nice surprise.

Regards.

Stephen.

I don't no nothing technical about photography. Been told so many times in many forums. It's my inspiration to post. ;-)

Best wishes for the new year ahead.

How about some beach photos? It's foggy and cold here today.

The entire hike was under heavy canopy out of the sun. The rain has been steady for a couple of weeks, and the water was running at a good clip. Normally, it's a trickle. Without a tripod I had to resort to ISO1600 to get a shutter speed to allow me to capture anything resembling in-focus. No IS AS or anything to help. Good thing there are trees and logs around to lean against.

I try to maintain a assortment of junk. ;-)

Happy New Year
Mighty fine junk I must say.

When I next have some time, maybe I'll dig a little more in my dumpster, shake off the coffee grounds, and see what I can pull out.

Thanks
One man's junk is another's treasure.
Sharing your junk was a treasure to view.
Blessings

I will endeavor to persevere. I'm actually a tad busy though, and haven't been releasing my shutter(s) much. The sun is shining and people keep calling me wanting me to build stuff for them. Work is such a distraction. ;-)

I'll be watching to see what you can find.

Well, in my case the EXIF metadata can be modified in the Photoshop Bridge metadata editor. There are fields for copyright, author, and a multitude of other things that mean nothing to me. Anywho, one fills in the fields they care about and then appends that data to the existing EXIF data for the file.

I just change it for fun, and a way of keeping track of what year it is. ;-)
So how do you update the EXIf metadata? Yeah, I know first pour a rum.

Excellent photos.

Love the saturated colour; water movement just right also, imho.

Thanks for the pics.

It's actually Uvas Canyon County Park. It's hidden back in the hills a few miles from Gilroy.

I tore a small deck (3'x12') off the side of a house. They poured 2.5 inches of concrete over it, and the wood deck as well as the underpinning (such as it was) was rotting. They did not use piers and posts, but tied an 8x8 to the fireplace and a wall that was moving. Anyway, it was rotting, cracking, and pulling away from the house. Crazy. Sloping hillside underneath. Loads of fun working with that.

I built a larger deck (5'x12.5') from the ground up. The new deck surface is now old Redwood barrel staves, which are not only tapered from one end to the other, but convex on top and concave on the bottom. And they aren't very straight either. Ate up two weeks. It's done.

No pics of the finished product. I did take a pic the day before finishing though, but it's not focused properly. Only camera I had with me that day was a 40D with a Pentax M42 screw mount manual focus 35f/3.5 on it. I forgot to move the aperture to wide open to do my manual focusing, so I was looking though a very dark f/8 hole. Dumb mistake.

Here's the general idea, but missing a few trim details and focus. ;-)

Dont know that park...whatca building ???
