Hey hows it going...finally signed up on this site after reading the forum for a few months now. I picked up the NEX-3 back in Aug/Sept, upgrading from the P/S world. It was kind of an impulse by after seeing a show about this camera. I have been using the 18-55 kit lens up until last week when I picked up the 18-200. Have been having a lot of fun with the camera overall. I have only had one day of shooting with the 18-200 and although it is a lot larger than the 18-55, I didn't find it to be unmanageable. Did a lot of walking both in a park and around the city and was pleased with it. Some of the shots didnt come out as good as I hoped but no fault to the camera/lens, lack of experience played its role in that. One of the things that drew me to this camera was the lack of a view finder. Since all my past cameras have been P/S I was more comfortable with that approach to shooting. I did find it to be some what of a draw back with the 18-200, with the lens fully extended and having to hold the camera out from your body to see the screen sometimes gave me a small wobble while trying to focus. Adjusting my stance seemed to take care of that for the most part.

Well I look forward to the New Year and continuing to learn with this camera.

Welcome to the group and glad you can sign on. There are a lot of helpful people on this forum.

I just picked up my NEX-3 1/1/11.

I am having difficulty with the menu system, though. I am sure it will take awhile to get the hang of it.
