Humorous story, then serious subject.....

I was asked to bring a few of my photographs to a friends house who wanted to show them to someone. I hate doing that and was reluctant but, I caved in a brought over three photos. We then drove to her friends house, where just before dinner was being served, my friend was showing the three photos. The response was an interesting one......

wow these photos are great, you must have a great camera!

Well, after dinner and, on the way out the door when we were leaving, my girldfirend says.....

the food was delicious....... those must be great pots and pans you have!!

he he

Ok, on a serious note:

I was walking on the pier at the beach and a woman stopped and looked at my weird looking F717. She immediately asked me.... are you a photographer ? I told her I live and breathe with this camera and yes, sometimes I'm a photographer.

I find myself in a strange way these days. Everywhere I go, I find myself looking at things very differently. It's like I'm in constant hunt for a photograph through my eyes. DO you find yourself doing this ? It's like a disease... really !! :-) I find myself doing this while I drive, when I walk, when I'm in someone else's car as a passenger, when I'm simply walking in the parking lot to my car after leaving a store shopping.... this is getting out of hand... it's nuts! lol Is there a cure ? :-)

Sometimes it's really annoying to others. I was a the zoo last week and my lady friend complained I was taking too long to walk through the zoo. Then she complained I was taking too many photos of each animal. Then she complained it was too hot out. Then she complained I wasn't holding her hand enough while we walked. Ok, so the zoo trip got out of hand. lol
Lesson.... NEVER take anyone with you on a photo shoot.... never! :-)

Well, that's enough rant!! I was SOOOO tired of Sony bashing talk, F717 return talk, I had to do something. :-) Feel free to comment all you want and, tell me what a nut I am..... in a perpetual hunt for photographics.

Have a nice night,
Mark J

Mark,

I feel the same way and I'm building quite a love-hate relationship with my camera! Ever since I got my 707 last week, I've been taking pics of everything and seeing everything differently now. My quest for the perfect picture is neverending. In the car, walking down my street, in my house... everything I look at makes me stop and think, "This would make a great shot from this angle." I can't just sit and enjoy anything anymore. I live a few blocks from the beach in LA and I usually like to walk out there in the evenings and watch the sunsets. But now I can't just sit and enjoy the moment - I am always trying to capture it! I keep saying my camera is both a curse and joy.

OMG, I' a having the same problem as you, except the lack of holding hand part. I hope this girl I'm asking out will be somewhat interested in photography.

But I would say that this is best shared with loved ones and friends as well :-) Lone photography can be productive, but not nearly as enjoyable :-)

Hi Mark,

You are not alone here, so don't feel bad! You are an obsolutely "normal" person! :) Everyone else are really abnormal!...because there are so many beautiful things around us and they don't see it!?...How sad! :)

Oh boy Mark! That behavior of yours........ sounds like I am duplicating it!

LOL Luckily I have been married for a while, so I don't have to worry about the not getting enough attention routine! hehe That's a tough one when you are dating. =/

I find myself taking pictures in places I had never thought of going to before. I see the world differently now, but I have to admit, I like it! (I must reeeeeeeeeeally be over the edge). hehe

We are planning a trip back to Vail, Colorado in December. Now skiing has always been my thing. I did not waste my time taking a camera with me since it would interfere with the steep and the deep. This trip will be a test of how often I have my F707 on the moutain! The views from up on top are out of this world. I have just never captured them with my camera! Actually I used to be the one they captured in the action shots. It's going to be fun to be on the other end of the camera this time!

what ever can you photograph in your office that's photographic ? lol

DD (can I call you that ? lol )

There is actually hope for you..... really.

The hope is, you'll change your mind about not taking that camera to the mountain vista for that incredible shot!! How in the world could you resist such an opportunity?

I have never been skiing in my life. Closest I've come is when I lived in NY, as a teen, we used to spin the car in circles in the snow.... lol You know how bad you are going to feel if you leave that camera behind while you are viewing that beautiful scenery ?

It happened to me today. I was driving, looked to my left, saw that there was going to be one magnificent sunset (the cloud formations were a giveaway), then felt bad that I was going to be missing it..... even though sunsets are pretty here most every day in Florida.

Have a great trip to Vail and, please... take one shot for me from the top!!

LOL Luckily I have been married for a while, so I don't have to
worry about the not getting enough attention routine! hehe That's
a tough one when you are dating. =/

I find myself taking pictures in places I had never thought of
going to before. I see the world differently now, but I have to
admit, I like it! (I must reeeeeeeeeeally be over the edge). hehe

We are planning a trip back to Vail, Colorado in December. Now
skiing has always been my thing. I did not waste my time taking a
camera with me since it would interfere with the steep and the
deep. This trip will be a test of how often I have my F707 on the
moutain! The views from up on top are out of this world. I have
just never captured them with my camera! Actually I used to be the
one they captured in the action shots. It's going to be fun to be
on the other end of the camera this time!

Humorous story, then serious subject.....

I was asked to bring a few of my photographs to a friends house who
wanted to show them to someone. I hate doing that and was reluctant
but, I caved in a brought over three photos. We then drove to her
friends house, where just before dinner was being served, my friend
was showing the three photos. The response was an interesting
one......

wow these photos are great, you must have a great camera!

Well, after dinner and, on the way out the door when we were
leaving, my girldfirend says.....

the food was delicious....... those must be great pots and pans
you have!!

he he

Ok, on a serious note:
I was walking on the pier at the beach and a woman stopped and
looked at my weird looking F717. She immediately asked me.... are
you a photographer ? I told her I live and breathe with this
camera and yes, sometimes I'm a photographer.

I find myself in a strange way these days. Everywhere I go, I find
myself looking at things very differently. It's like I'm in
constant hunt for a photograph through my eyes. DO you find
yourself doing this ? It's like a disease... really !! :-) I
find myself doing this while I drive, when I walk, when I'm in
someone else's car as a passenger, when I'm simply walking in the
parking lot to my car after leaving a store shopping.... this is
getting out of hand... it's nuts! lol Is there a cure ? :-)

Sometimes it's really annoying to others. I was a the zoo last week
and my lady friend complained I was taking too long to walk through
the zoo. Then she complained I was taking too many photos of each
animal. Then she complained it was too hot out. Then she
complained I wasn't holding her hand enough while we walked. Ok, so
the zoo trip got out of hand. lol
Lesson.... NEVER take anyone with you on a photo shoot.... never! :-)

Well, that's enough rant!! I was SOOOO tired of Sony bashing talk,
F717 return talk, I had to do something. :-) Feel free to comment
all you want and, tell me what a nut I am..... in a perpetual hunt
for photographics.

Have a nice night,
Mark J

whats a camera?

Live, think and sleep macro. Boring to some but that's my life. Alway's curious of things my eye's can't see. Macro helps me breath :-))

The camera is a huge part of that, but what camera does not really matter, never has and never will. The camera is only a box and only a way to capture. Brand, I could not care less, auto anything I could not care less.

I often take my daughter out with me, she's 12 and has an Oly, getting quite good at it as well. The eye's of the future and next generation of "Seeing". Nature of course :-))

Anyway, all the best Mark and thanks for the smile, great writing :-))

I have not seen or heard from you in a while..... are you ok ?

Glad to see you are still shooting macro, it's fascinating, isn't it ?

And, I see you are training the young one at an early age.... that's great!

Soon she'll be fighting over use of your equipment but, better that then the way kids are arguing over who can use the computer. lol

Take care,
Mark J
