I went out on the morning of Saturday Dec 18th, and the streets were clear - not a snowflake in sight. Around 10am it began to snow lightly, and by about 11:30am we had blizzard conditions. It's very rare to see snow like this in the centre of London.
I was 'trapped' in London Camera Exchange in the Strand, just up from Trafalgar Square, for almost an hour. When the snow eased off slightly, I left, and the streets were transformed.
I actually live in the City area of London - the original Square Mile - and (rather than catch a bus at Aldwych) decided to walk home and take some pictures.
Unfortunately, I did not have my 5D with me, but the little Samsung NX-10 with 30mm Pancake lens did a pretty good job and survived the snow.
Bear in mind, the streets were clear of snow a couple of hours earlier.
