What is your worst lens purchase and why?

I bought all the accessories for this camera including the extra lenses
and they were a royal PIA to use so I rarely used them. Waste of money.
I had a 950, and bought the fisheye lens and the wide converter. I STILL use them both, especially the wide angle. I plan on converting the fish adapter for use with other lenses as well. Two of the best purchases I have ever made.

Like you, however, I never saw an advantage to the 2x or 3x tele lenses.
My 990 recently died because the small piece of flimsy plastic holding the
battery enclosure closed simply broke. No way to keep the 4 batteries intact.
The camera is dead. Nikon sucks as this bad design and the $1600.00 it cost.

I had a Quantaray wide angle extender on my Panasonic PV62, if I remember well, S-VHS camera.

What a piece of crap that was, but I used it on some occasions indoor to get better angle.
Spoiled quitea few videos.

I agree, a true piece of garbage,

Canon 16-35L II -- I "upgraded" from my 17-40L that I really liked (but not loved) to the larger lens for a little more sharpness (and the larger aperture as a pleasant side effect). The IQ was slightly worse, and the extra light was, of course, irrelevant for my landscapes. I sold it at a loss and went back to the 17-40L.

Over the years, I've had a few "worst lenses", until I learned to use them properly.

I can agree that your 1.4 prime is good, but a good little zoom reduces alot of hassles too. Its kinda like how much do want to torture yourself to be a 'Photographer'?

Canon 50mm 1.4 because it has changed my style of photography , made a bag full of glass redundant , made my DSLR so much lighter , made me buy a much smaller bag , killed my interest in ever buying the 17-55 because all the time you can walk backwards the 1.4 is better than the 17-55 for a third of the dosh !

If I had known then what I know now I would have saved a lot of money time and energy wasted on zooming around . That lens has turned my SLR into a compact ! I am getting addicted to zooming in on screen to look at stunning definition as good as the L glass . Help !!

So this horrible little lens was my worst purchase ? That depends on the worst effects it has caused , which for me have turned out for the better !
