717 recall whiners!

Just as well I have never bought a GM product.

Here in the UK, we have consumer laws which demand that products must work out of the box (they must perform the tasks they are sold for when bought). Anything that does not work when bought goes straight back to the retailers. No ifs or buts or recalls. Its a bit difficult to excercise on cars but smaller items, no problems.

Listen, if a camera visits a repair workshop, its second-hand. Its that plain simple. Why should we pay new prices for second-hand goods?

LOL - you talk about no paranoia with being right and then post basically the equivelent of "You know you are wrong don't you...?"

Your response is almost an oxymoron!

Bauerman

Lee - you are on my Christmas Card list!!
Nope, no paranoia here. Tell me, do you always have such a
difficult time adimitting when you are wrong?

Not at all, I'm not paranoid about because I know I'm right. They did make a Malibu in the '80s. You shoved your foot so far in your mouth you can't seem to extract it.

No oxymoron, just a moron...

Your initial post:

"It seems that I will have take your post and your opinion below with a grain of salt since they did not produce Malibu's in the 1980's as your post suggests. You may have been mad when you wrote this and may have made a mistake....I understand."

Your attempt at a save (the lamest of all time):

"There was no (today's) Malibu in the 80's.......that is correct......today's Malibu started in 1997 and had been an award winning car ever since. You mentioned in your post your distaste for the Malibu due to some experience you have had in the past with "other" Malibus. You would be comparing Apples and Oranges in that example and cannot state problems with cars 20 years ago and have them relate to current models. It doesn't work that way....."

I look forward to your Christmas card. It falls on the 25th this year.

This speaks for itself.

I've been a technician at a G.M. dealer for 23yrs. Some of the
vehicles now are way over 50k, and they have "recalls" all the
time. I listen to some of you bitching about "your being
inconvenienced" by Sony, for a problem "they knew" was there! ( I
paid bla, bla, money etc.) Ya know, short of 1, and I mean 1, recall
G.M. has had in 23yrs. They have NEVER (the same goes for almost
all other auto manufactureres) EVER, picked up your car/truck,
fixed it, and returned it to your home! Does ANYONE know ANY
buisiness that has done that on a mass scale? My God, the unsold
717's still on the shelf didn't even have time to get dusty, and
Sony is already repairing them! I say GREAT JOB SONY!!!!!!! for
rectifying a problem in a VERY timely fashion and going WAY OVER
the extra mile to accomidate your customers! I havn't lost one

As far as you FEW whiners out there that have been SO PUT OUT over

a NIKON!!
After all-------- YOU HAD A BAD DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you this angry in all your posts?! I mean come on...if this is causing you this much heartburn then I can only imagine what a real crisis would do to you. Take three deep breaths, go for a ride in your Intrepid and post again in the morning.

Oh, come on. Quit trying to mind read. I'm not the least bit angry. Incredulous yes, angry no.

Are you always this reluctant to admit you are wrong?

You called me a moron though in your post….and without even really knowing me Lee! Come on admit it…you got a little perturbed by our little banter back and forth. Eh? I think that name calling is a classic sign of anger …..from children right on through adults. It’s o.k. though……I don’t hold it against you. You also implied that I might be a little slow by telling me what day Christmas falls on….while I appreciate the information….it seems like another sign of anger.

I want to help Lee……help me help you………….help me help you

I apologize for the caps. I didn’t really particularly appreciate them either but I simply did a cut and paste. I suspect the author of the document was trying to shout the message loud and clear that GM sucks but who knows for sure.

I really don’t care for any particular American automobiles for several reasons. Let me paint the typical American auto with a broad stroke: they lack design, they tend to all drive like a big fat marshmallow (absolute no feel whatsoever), build quality is far from good, the resale value is bloody awful – shall I continue?

Nope, thanks very much I’ll stick with European and Japanese cars any day.

Now we've turned to good-natured humor to avoid admitting we were wrong, eh?

I didn't call you a moron--you inferred that. I don't know nearly enough about you to decide you are a moron. However, your responses to my posts have certainly been sophomoric if not moronic.

The only anger in any of this is my anger at GM, and I have good reason for that.

If you want to think I'm angry at you, that's fine. I'm not. I just think it is really funny that you came back so strong and sarcastic without even checking your facts. And then you can't admit it!

But I must admit I've grown to admire your pig-headed stubbornness.

"I didn't call you a moron--you inferred that"

You meant for me to infer that.........you and I both know that. You called my posts "lame" and now I am pig-headed stubborn. I rule!

You have a real direct way of NOT calling me names! Excellent. I also like it when you can get the word "sophomoric" into a sentence...did you have a bet with someone that you could use that today?

Lee...lets be done here...could this have less to do with cameras? No! I made a simple post about the GREAT quality of the Chevrolet Malibu of today and you posted that Malibus weren't good based on a car that is over 20 years old......if you think that is the way to go and that is a relevant comparison..great....we'll go with what you said. All I know is Chevrolet did NOT make this Malibu in the 80's.....nuff said. Thanks for the entertainment at work today! You have been a blast there tiger!

Okay, chief.

If you want to put it to an end, just admit that you posted sarcastic comments based on your erroneous belief that Chevy did not make the Malibu in the '80s, and that you were wrong.

It is clear you didn't mean that they didn't produce the same Malibu (duh? who didn't know that?). You thought it wasn't made at all in the '80s, and you were wrong.

It all has nothing to do with cameras. Just don't be so quick in the future to malign someone's opinions because you think they are wrong about something--because you might jjust find out you're the one who is wrong!

MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!

I know it's almost winter--but, I had no intention of creating this SNOWBALL EFFECT! Why I mentioned G.M. is only because "I" see this sort of thing EVERY DAY! I am, in effect, just like the Sony tech. that will fix your 717, HE didn't design, or build it----- he's just trying to fix it for you!

So please, don't take it out on the technicians (salesmen?------we'll THAT'S O.K.)LOL All i'm saying is-- No company does EVERYTHING perfect, sure, they made a bad call in letting them out, BUT, maybe it was even pressure from stockholders to get it on the shelf and quit sinking money into it, and they had NO choice, who knows! Most corporate mistakes in my opinion come from greed to offset the competition and not lose a sale, even at the cost of quality at times. All I wanted to initially say is----you 1% of 717 owners SO upset over this, LIGHTEN UP! If everything we bought in life was flawless we'd still be out in the yard with our little wooden wind up airplanes, personally, mine broke when it smashed into the garage, as did the other 10 of them. I guess I haven't been right since :) :)
P.S. SORRY for all the fuss i've created
