Guitarist - Art or just tacky.

I used the Photoshop posterize function to inject a little color
into this photo. It's not something that I normally do, but I
thought it was appropriate for this subject. Does it work?
Nice energy in the pic --

Heres' a thought how about removing the mic and fade the posterization look back a bit. You might even try a taste of Artistic Watercolor faded in a bit in spots.

Hi Richard,

I like that shot a lot. The watercolor effect looks great, perfect subject for it. My .02 worth would be to clean up the stuff in the background on the right of the frame. To me that is a little distracting, but not enough to really hurt the picture that much.

Really a neat post process job, but you started with a nice pic too.

Regards,

Mark

Thanks for your comments, here it is cleaned up as per your suggestion. I couldn't quite duplicate the colors of the other posting.

In my opinion the final result is more graphic arts than photography. Being a photographer, I kind of prefer the mild posterization effect rather than the watercolor strokes. This has been a very interesting experience.

Hi Richard,

That's the ticket! I like that one a lot. Would make a great poster or advertisment for a concert. Really a nice shot now.

Great job,

Hey Richard,

I like that version too. No I don't do drugs, but I have an art background.
