Just got an email from OfficeMax saying they would Price match the 5700 at $845.00 from http://www.bilibi.com....The process is i order the 5700 online from OfficeMax at their price of $1,199.98,then email them the order number & email they sent me and then they would credit my account the difference...OfficeMax account??...Does that mean i'll have to spend the difference there?....

You are better off ordering through Dell when they have a 15 % off and then use the AMEX gold to price match with Broadway photo for 609. AMEX will let you go down to 750.00 USD. Still a better deal than office max.

That's exactly what I did, I used the AMEX card and got a USA perfect 5700 for $744. AMEX was quick and very easy. I have my camera about six weeks and love it.

Maybe it's already changed? I was thinking of doing this with the 4500 but on their policy page, they now have a max pricematch of $55.

Look closely, that is for when the price changes at officemax within 14 days of purchase. The pricematch is a different deal, and they will honor it for a full kit. They would not honor broadway photo since the price was for the camera only, no battery, flash or rest of the kit.

I tried to snag the $799 deal from Officemax and have been refused. Here's an excerpt from an email sent by the CS representative:
"After further review we find this item to be from a 3rd party vendor and we will not price match from a third party vendor. We do apologize that we cannot accommodate you at this time and for any inconvenience this may have caused you. "
I sent back a nastygram complaining about their inconsistency in applying their pricematch guarantee, and the CS rep is sending it to her superviser for review. Hopefully, I haven't missed the boat on this deal.
Does anyone have emails documenting the fact that OfficeMas has honored prices from bilibi before (you can blank out all personal info before sending it).

How does this work? I bought my 5700 10 days ago at Fotoconnection for $928.00 using my AMEX Platinum card. Is there a way to get money back from AMEX?

They pricematched with me from bilibi.com because at the time, the online ad was specific for showing it was the full kit with battery, memory card, charger, and everything. They refused broadway photo cause when they called them, they were told it was for the camera only.
Dan, sorry I did not answer you sooner, saw your response to my post. They initially charge the full amt, then credit the difference back to your card. They did that for the camera, as well as the 128mb 12 lexar card that I found for 46 or 48 bucks elsewhere.

I talked with OM about the PM to find out how long it would take to find out if they would accept the PM. They said it generally takes 48 hours. Have you heard anything yet?
I haven't ordered mine yet... just a little paranoid. By the time I do it will probably be too late for the PM - OM will probably change their policy.
Would appreciate an update.

It's only beeen 24 hours and they told me 24-48 hours.
I would not wait, if I was ready to order.
There is no reason they should not honor a competitive price, on a similar package with a US warranty.

They declined the match with some lame excuses about special order/3rd party items, neither of which my PM request was.
They then proceeded to incorrectly quote their stated price match policy.
I am now impatiently waiting to hear from a human manager.
It is also ironic that they did not refuse the PM, until after the unit had shipped.
Go elsewhere, unless you want a hassle IMO.

After using every lame excuse, short of saying their dog ate my pricematch request, someone finally responded by saying my $778 DigitalDealz.com price did nt include the Arcsoft image editing suite (big deal), that the the OM package contained.
Fair enough, so I resubmitted a PM request for an "identical" package from Megadigital for $947.
They came back and said (new excuse), the they don't price match Nikons purchased from their web site, because Nikons are a "special order" and not stocked in their warehouse. Not sure what that has to do with a PM.
They did say that they would price match a Sony or Canon, but unfortunately for me that was not the brand I had purchased. I don't doubt for a minute theat I would get the exact same run-around if I had pruchased either of these brands.
My 7500 will be going back to OM, to be shoved in an appropriate place.
