What lenses do you have but never use?

I have the exact f/2.8 (Tammy 17-50 VC and Sigma 50-150 II) combo and they are great and versatile. I still use my 50 f/1.4g prime, but the 35 f/1.8g is getting dusted

Manual focus lenses

105 f2.5 AIS
50mm f1.4 AId
50mm 1.8 E

Oddly, 80-200 f2.8, get less and less use because the 80-400VR is so good over the same range, and usually do not use f2.8

Older one from the 80s.

I know i would get more use out of it on an FX... for now, on my DX, its too narrow for what i want to do with it.

Gonna hang onto it till i get a D700 or D800/900/etc

You shoot DX or FX?

I wasn't using my 80-200F2.8 on DX (not wide enough for general use, not long enough for wildlife). When I got the 80-400, I also felt the same way - it was good enough at 80-200 that I didn't need the F2.8 as much as I needed 200-400 focal length. Since not enough room in the bag, the 80-200 went on the shelf.

Since I've (recently) gotten a D700, I'm using the 80-200 indoors now, for grandkids events at school. I used to use the 80-200 a lot on film, and I'm enjoying it again on FX. But I'm also wishing it was a 70-200vr II...

Interesting to me - since I got the D700, almost all of my lenses are usable now. The 18-200vr is the odd man out. But lenses I didn't like on the D300 are ones that I like on the D700.

I actually shoot both, but mostly FX with a D700, and use a D90 occassionally.

Either case, I enjoy the VR and 200-400 mm range over the f2.8.

I have often serioulsy considered selling the 80-200 to help fund a 24-70 or 24-120 VR2 to replace my 35-70 f2.8. Just can't bring myself to part with such a good lens

Seriously, if you're not a collector, why don't you sell these lenses to people who really need them or cannot afford the unused ones?

I bought it out of a combination of need and poverty for a particular job. It never delivered any image with anything special, even though I was always happy with the primes I had in it's focal length range, at apertures that were also in it's range. The variable aperture slowed down manual metering, it didn't open up wide enough anyway, and I really don't care for push-pull zooms anyway. I didn't get much for it.

I've had a few lenses in the years i've been active in photography that i just couldn't believe i even owned. I'm curious to know what lenses any of you have and ever thought "why did i even get that?"
24-70/2.8G
14-24/2.8G

I did a strategic mistake, bought the 16-35/4 VR and 50/1.8D and there you have it, these go with D700 all the time.

But I am determined to sell 16-35/4 and start using the 14-24 instead))))

16-85vr (sold it). I like the lens, sharp, well built. It just seems I shoot more in the 50mm and up range. If I'm lower than 50, I'm generally using the 17-55 2.8, or Tokina 11-16. For walkabout the 55-200 stays on my camera.

I'm really trying to only keep lens that I use regularly.

70-300VR is my least use lens, maybe because is variable lens (most of my lens is prime and 24-70 2.8), but that the longest lens I have, so I still keep it for "just in case" reason

Same here. I usually throw the 10.5mm in my pocket and it's come in handy quite a few times. I actually use it more than I use my 70-200 VR I. And I've printed more prints taken with the the 10.5 than the 70-200 too. That makes my 70-200 my odd lens out.
