All you people who have heard from Mathers - when did you place your orders?

Mathers have been sitting on a £100 deposit of mine since the first week of October, and they haven't called me!!

Pretty much on the morning they announced the pre-order.

I asked about if they had sold all their first batch, and they said yes they'd all gone to pre-orders. I'd be very surprised if you don't get your call. Might be good to call them or pre-empt them with an e-mail.

Even then, they said they are getting another batch in on Monday that weren't all subject to pre-orders, but said they'd go pretty quickly.
 
Pretty much what they told me yesterday, all the shipment they had today are gone to pre orders, and they are holding off taking any more body only orders until they sell some of the len's they are splitting from the bodies.

Framerate, i'd call them mate, after all if you paid a deposit you should be in the front of the que.

Glad you guys are getting your cameras tomorrow. Please check for the 25p first thing. I know a lot of you probably don't care about video. However, there are a lot of people out there that are holding out over the 25p issue. It won't take you much time just see what video frame rates are listed and upload a 1080i sample if you can. I have a server you can upload it to if you don't have access to one.

I'll check for you, but video is not my strong point, where do i check and how to get the info you want.

Customer Service is one of Mathers' strong points it seems to me. They rang me this morning to let me know that the GH2 had arrived and that my order would be despatched today and hopefully with me tomorrow, snowfall permitting.

Unfortunately I was out walking with my LX3 when they called, but a message was left asking me to call back when I returned. Christmas will come early tomorrow I hope! :-)
 
Thank you. If you cannot get to it tomorrow then we can get detailed instructions for anyone who is unsure of how to check for 25p.

I didn't wait for them to ring - I phoned this morning and yes, they had mine in stock (plus 100-300). Living in Stockport, I jumped on a train to Bolton and am now waiting (im)patiently for the battery to charge. Realistically, I won't get chance to play until tomorrow. I was told that all of today's delivery was pre-ordered and also most, if not all of the next delivery, due next week. I think they are in for a bumper Christmas!
 
Congratulations on being the first, you know being the first your going to have your work cut out for yourself, the video guys want to know about 25p video mode first, good luck with your nice new GH2.

I got the phone call today and will hopefully be getting it tomorrow; I also paid my deposit in the first week in October

Maria_H has her GH2 and has offered to do your 25p tests, you just have to show her how, her post is further down in this thread.

Congrats on getting the camera. It looks like you are the first in Europe to get a production PAL camera.

Just put the camera in Auto mode(IA). Then click the menu button and go down to the settings with a picture of a movie camera. Look for settings that say FSH and FH. Choose FSH and go back into record mode.

Then click the little red record button. Click it again to stop. I will private message you on how to upload that file to my FTP server.

Can you also turn the camera to the dial setting with a little picture of a camera and the letter “M”. Then click the menu button and search for any setting that says 24H or 25H. You should see the 24H one. However, if you see a 25H one also then they have added 25p.

Hi - Mathers rang while I was out (battling through some terrible snow conditions that made me so glad I drive one of those enviro-hating 4x4's ;)

I will call them tomorrow - all academic as far as delivery goes, though, because the postman has vanished off the face of the earth and even the local delivery office is abandoned, with a sign that just says, 'Closed due to snow' ;)

So not a dog's chance of getting it next day delivery - next week looks a bit optimistic at the moment!

I'm waiting for three or four other parcels at the moment - there is going to be a spectacular backlog if this bad weather persists (not to mention the flood chaos that will result from the thaw)

Still, at least the power hasn't gone off yet - so that' something to be gratef.................
 
Can you take some pictures of the snow. That actually sounds quite nice. It was 65 degrees here after sunset with galactic storms the other day. Really didn't feel like winter here.

Hi

Please tell us how your GH2 fares in image quality at common and high ISO's. Is it responsive in terms of operation and AF speed? If possible, post an image or more here.

Well I've searched all the menus - under Creative Movie there's a setting "24P cinema" and under Recording Quality 24H and 24L - but no sign of anything 25. Will take a video clip when it is properly light - but don't expect anything too spectacular, just a quick glimpse of my garden in the snow maybe! Other than that, I'll be heading off out to get some snowy shots and have a good play :-)
 
Great thanks that is what I was expecting. The only way it has 25p is if they switched 1080i/50 to 1080i/25p psf. The chance of that is zero though because they have already advertised it as having "Smooth fluid motion" at Full HD.

Anyway thanks for your efforts. If you get a sample video then just private message me here and I can give you upload instructions if you don't have anywhere else to upload it.

I'm iTimJim on dvxuser mate. Just uploading 2 clips now. 1/50 and 1/40...no dice on both respects though as far as I can tell.
