Hello.

I'm looking for a good close up lens for my Fuji s602. Is there anybody who has some kind of close up lens on his/her Fuji 6900/s602 Camera? I thought this raynox lens will be a good one for me

DCR-250 Super Macro/Close-up lens
Lens constructions : 2G/3E Optical coated glass elements
Front filter size : 49mm
Rear threads size : 43mm
Size/Weight : DCR-150 53x18mm/60g.

It maintain minimum distortion as well as over 100mm working distance to the object at most telephoto position.

normal super macro

And with the lens

But is there anyone who has some experience with some close up lenses for the s602
And which adaptorring do I have to buy with it?

Hmmmm.. 43mm threads in the rear ?? Must need another adapter to convert to the 55mm tube then.

I believe you might need a 55mm adapter to fit this onto your 602z...

Nobody more info about this lens :( :( ?
I actually quite interested in this also, nobody else using?
This really is a problem as none of the posted pictures show a high contrast area of the picture (and is shown at original size) to get to know how much chromatic aberrations this lens produces (esp. when not using the full optical zoom of the camera). I wouldn't buy one of those if it costs more than $25 because you can build an excellent closeup lens yourself from an army surplus binocular (some of the russing and american ones use achromatic front lenses!) and a 55mm lens thread from an old lens. I also use close-up lenses from Cokin: A Series adapter kit with up to two stacked lenses - inexpensive.

I also know that by using maybe just $15+ to get closeup filter we may get a wonderful result, however I always find that the limited "focusable" distance of closeup filter is annoying, especially my target is insect, the moment i find the focus distance, it's gone... :(

so if the macro lens (Raynox DCR-250) can focus in any distance, I will rather go for it. but too bad seem like not much people tried this b4?

You won't get much different focusing distance with the macro lens. This is an +10 (guessing by the focal distance given by Raynox, can be calculated precisely but seem to have misplaced the website for the formula) closeup lens. So you're not better of besides not needing to stack two of the regular lenses.

thanks for the info... however i still dun understand that since it's something like we can use 2 filters stack up to get the same effect, why still selling it that expensive?

The fewer optical elements you add to the lens the "better" the quality of the resulting image. If these stacked lenses aren't quite up to spec stacking will increase the chromatic aberrations and edge distortions more than using the single Raynox or Kenco lens. Achromatic closeup lenses cost between $50 and $80 each. Unless of course you are able to use a screwdriver to dismantle one of those aforementioned army surplus binoculars which sell at $20 and have two front lenses with each of those being between +4 and +6 diopter closeup lenses.

Hi chenwei, the filter/lens is expensive because it has more elements and produce better quality pictures than stacked filters. That's why the 2-element Hoya +10 ( S$43 or USD25) costs much more than a Hoya +4 ( S$11 or USD6).

Another good close-up lens, Canon 250D, costs S$135, or USD77.

Hector ever mentioned that he saw a difference in quality when he used the Canon 250D in place of the Hoya +4.

wau, thanks for the explaination. you even have the price in S$! so can i say that in this case the macro lens and close up filter all work in the same way, just depends on the quality the image produced (in most of the case)?

and... are there any samples photos comparing closeup filter, macro lens and those good close up lens? so far i can find samples in wide-angle and tele-converter only... :(
