Hello:
You may or not noticed that I almost ceased to post on the last year or two.

The reason is that I had strong pain even walking and could not photograph because of that.

Recently I decided to get an hip replacement, witch will take place on December 13 or 14.

After full recover, I will come back with a lot of activity (I hope) and will give a lot of use to my cameras, specially the new FX5 and intent to buy a new m 4/3.

This is, of course no news and could be badly interpreted, but I would like to explain why I almost quited and also to get your solidarity to may pain.
Best wishes for all.
Kind regards.
Joao

It will all be over before you can think about it...Well, maybe not that quickly. Best wishes for a quick recovery.

Good luck with the surgery and recovery, Joao. Looking forward to hearing how everything went, and seeing some photos from the perspective of a new hip! Be well.

Hope it all goes well with a quick recovery.

I know a few people who've had it done, including one chap who, like Jack, has had both replaced, and some I know are not so young either. What always surprises me is how soon they're back on their feet wishing they'd had it done years ago.
Best wishes
John.

My opinion is just that.

Thank you very much to all. It is very encouraging to receive such support. This is another side of the friendship that exists among us.
I feel better now and promise to come back with a lot of strength.
Thanks a lot.
Kind regards
Joao

I had my left hip replaced may this year and I'm playing badminton since september.
My physio says it's a micaculous quick recovery.
Hope you will recover as fast as I did.
Good luck!

Hello joao.

Good luck with the surgery. Hope post op you will be pain free so you can hop around to take some more great Lisbon pics.
Your friend,
Dave.

All the best and have a quick recovery. After an accident a few years ago I used my camera as another physio tool. I would walk a few feet ... shoot a photo then rest ... but in the end it worked. Hope it is the same for you.

Cheers.

Joao,

I hope that your transition from every-day pain and discomfort through the operation with quality pain management after, and a strong recovery over time go well, and will make your quality of life all the much better. Quality of life, health, and the ability to wander and play are precious gifts. This sounds very positive in the long-term. I wish you the best. Keep us posted when you are able

Best Regards, DM
