These were taken today from various windows in my house. It was predicted, and most likely won't last long. All with E510 and 14-54 w/TC1.4.

From my kitchen window.

Front porch railing from my dining room window, with reflection of the pellet stove flame.

It's been doing this all day. I'm a little concerned with the weight of the snow on the apple trees, as they still have most of their leaves. When I went into town this morning, 4 miles south, it was raining.

Hi Lois Ann,

I know you're near the coast so the snow won't last, but these images are great. Stay warm and dry.

We'll be in Central Oregon in late December. We're looking forward to some snow shoeing around Mount Bachelor. Some of this will be on groomed trails with warming huts.

The pictures are impressive - I expect you were not anticipating snow this early.

Very pretty...we also might get snow in the Portland, Oregon area. We had a little slush on the car windshield...that was about all we got today. It's supposed to get well below freezing tomorrow morning...the roads are most likely going to be all ice...if not covered with snow...hope not...but we'll see tomorrow.

Lois,

These are very attractive shots of your snow. I sort of doubt our snow will be that attractive. The area has blizzard warnings - mostly in the Palouse, to Spokane on over, along hwy. 2 to Coulee Dam. We're due to get 20 mph winds here and maybe some snow between 9 PM and Midnight. Weather map looks like some ice, right now, in Longview. It was pretty cold with the wind, today and will get lots colder. 15 deg. now, going for 6 deg. tonight and down to -10 by tomorrow night. Sigh. I don't mind winter...I just wasn't quite ready for it. By Friday it should warm and then start snowing for a few or several days.

Keep warm...and stay home! Streets in town were slick. So, it's 4X4 time here.

The snow wasn't supposed to last, but it is snowing again now. It was supposed to be 22 degrees tonight, with snow. It usually doesn't snow here if it gets that cold so it should be interesting. What we'll probably have is ice!

I hope you have good snow and weather for snow shoeing in central OR next month.

Thanks, Henry. This is early for snow, and there have been predictions of a hard winter. We didn't have any snow last year, but December of 2008 was miserable.

We have about 5 inches. It snowed most of the day and has started again. Probably no school tomorrow as it is supposed to freeze overnight and turn everything to ice.

Gee you are getting early snow and we're getting a really warm early summer. Your snow pics are far better though than my "summer" pics.

Thanks, Digi. My thermometer says 17 degrees this morning. No school in our area today.

Thanks, Sharon. How much snow did you get? I looked at the Spokane webcams - it's a mess! Our thermometer read 17 degrees this morning. I didn't think it would get that low, but the clouds moved East and it got clear during the night. No school in our area today, there's probably a foot of snow on top of the hills above 1000 feet.

I wasn't ready for this either, but there is bright blue sky and sun out there now - photo opps!

Yes, really early snow and cold temps. It was 17 degrees F at my house this morning. Thanks for looking.

I wish I was over in the Banana Belt where you are the next couple of days. Supposed to be -5 degrees here tonight, high tomorrow 15 degrees with wind chill to -15.

Life is good. Blue skys and wood fire a blazing!

Ha, ha Kim. The banana belt hasn't been above freezing for two days. It was 17 degrees at my house yesterday morning, and 14 degrees this morning. Granted, this is very unusual for this area, especially this early in the season.

My pellet stove fire is blazing! We had blue sky yesterday but today it is white.

Thanks, John. After the snow we had temps in the teens, and it has finally warmed up into the 40s. There is still some snow at my house. Your 84 degrees is a little warmer than I like!

Hi Lois,

The snow certainly paints a pretty picture. Where I live any personal understanding of snow is miniscule to say the least, to me it appears to create a lot of work and expense, its upside has to be sporting activities and its beauty.
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.
Cheers,
JB
