you are right ofcourse...i used image stacking...but you make it sound such an irritating process when actually the truth is with ps5 for instance it couldn't be easier..Jeff, does it matter that he used an achromat and a flash and you used an expensive lens on a DSLR, the photos are what counts and his are quite obviously of a much higher standard don't you think? I have a DSLR and a dedicated 1:1 macro lens, I also have the FZ30 and achromats and the DSLR simply can't get the DOF needed without resorting to image stacking. Some excellent shots there, but he had to stack magnifying lenses onto the front of his camera and get very creative with flash diffusers. I just slapped on a 100mm macro lens and a ring flash - on the other hand, the lens alone probably cost more than his whole setup.

infact photo stacking makes it far easier to take macro's as u can burst shoot it and one of them is bound to be right...
with the fz100 11fps and 40fps for 5mp it couldn't be easier.
you just choose the good shots and load them to ps5 and it does the rest...
i got some amazing macros like that i doubt even one with 100mm macro lens could get otherwise without pure luck...also i can play around with the dof as i want with this using plugins like alien bokeh where as if you already have a too shallow dof you can't reveres it..
here is an example of one super macro using the raynox 250.
this day was so windy and this desert bush rocked all over the place...there was no way i could catch is with even a 5fps camera..
