Fine Pix Viewer Software..

Is their a newer version out? I got the last updated version from
Fuji's website.. but that was a while ago.. I think Kodak still has
Fuji Beat on Transfering the pictures with no Hassle.. I really
wanted to ask is their a way to "Quicky" dump the images from the
SM card to a folder? The way i do it now is Make a folder and Dump
all of the pictures their.. If Fuji looks at these bords in the
next version of Fine Pix Viewer make a way so we can quicky
transfer the pictures from the card to the computer in a "No hassle
way"

When i connect my camera or put a card on my reader, the FinePix
Viewer starts, and i only have to click on Automatic Save button to
transfer the photos, renamed to the date they were taken, to my
photos folder! Do you wanna more "No hassle way" ?

I'm think V 2.2 has an automatic save in the drop down or r click lists.

Ok So I clicked on it.. So where are the pictures sent to? It would

To 'My pictures' folder - in an instant!
filibuster
But you can customise the save folder place and name in the automatic save options.

Try your right mouse button. It is amazing how much you can do from there..

Version 3.0.51E came with my S602 I bought several weeks ago. There is a Software Update option on the Help menu of my version. When clicked it tells me I have the latest version.

Charlie
Version 3.050E came with the F601.
Also version 2 came with the 6900/6800.
I think new versions are got by clicking the internet service
button in Finepix and going from there.

Only FinePix viewer upgrade I see on Fuji site is for XP. I still

I also have that version and used the same link... can't really tell the difference but it is a lot lot bigger (65.5 MB) than the lower version that you can download of the internet. I remember that being something like 6MB if I remember correctly.

Hi, guys!
I tried the auto save feature but it didn't copy the movie clips, just the jpg.
Anyone has the same problem?
Anyone has the fix?
Thx.

Many thanks, Michael. Just downloaded all 65MG of the .exe file. Do you think I will have any problems because my camera is a 4900 (the grandfather of the 602).

I actually had version 1 of the viewer and downloaded 2.2 last night and was thrilled with the improvement. Can't believe there's now a 3.

Lynn

It is not camera dependant as long as your camera creates a drive letter like the 602 does. You can click on any directory on any hard drive and use FinePix Viewer to see and manipulate the photos.

No I don't have that problem. My guess is that you heve set up the options to change the file compression and size and it has renamed the .avi files as jpg's. If so they should be there but misnamed.

In settings/automatic save settings ensure the middle two check boxes AREN'T ticked. I personally also don't tick the bottom two options on deleting files.

I love this forum! Have Exif Viewer version 3 installed (a couple of days ago I didn't even know it exists). I have already used it to batch transfer. Love the expanded viewing space and it does seem quicker
BUT

No matter what I do I cannot get the darn thing out of my startup. I do not want it to load every single time I turn on my computer. I do not want it sitting in my system tray. I try - Run, MSConfig, Start-up tab and uncheck Exif but it keeps re-checking itself and loading up every time I start my computer. Does any one know how to disable this feature?
Thanks for all the help.

Lynn,

I used a lil program called RegCleaner. One try and it's gone from my startup.

You can try it if you like: http://www.winguides.com/downloads.php?guide=registry
It's the sixth one down.

Once you have the program running, click on the second tab (the Startup List tab). There you'll find the ExifLauncher entry, just choose and remove it. Once you restarted you shouldn't see it again in the startup.
Worked for me hope it works for you.

Thank you. that is exactly the information I need. I will work on it this weekend. I am always a little sketchy about editing the registry, but I will make a registry backup first and go for it. It will probably have to wait until the weekend, but I will let you know how I make out. Thanks again.

No need to edit the registry.
Just go in to Start/Programs/Startup and delete the shortcut Exif Launcher.
It will not start up next time you boot the system.

Thanks for your advice. I did go the edit-the-registry route, because I couldn't get anything else to work. Anyhow, I am glad it is gone!

Glad to hear it works for you too.
And no, haven't gotten my s602 yet, $$ went to a surprise car job.
Between new camera and walking......... hmm........
Although I could have been walking proudly with a Fuji on my neck, huh?

Hang in there - I am sure it will work out. I would definitely say the fuji is worth the wait. It is really an amazing camera. Who knows, by the time you are ready, maybe the next generation of fuji's will be available. They turn over pretty quickly. I have a 4900 I bought a year and a half ago and it is the grandfather to the 602.
